Despite recent rumors, JasmyCoin has not partnered with Apple. The token’s price increase of 20% in the last 24 hours seems to stem from speculative enthusiasm rather than actual developments. The confusion began after Apple announced the integration of Japan’s “My Number” ID card functionality into iPhones, leading some investors to mistakenly believe that JasmyCoin would also be part of this initiative.
Apple Announcement Not Related to JasmyCoin
The actual announcement from Apple, confirmed by a spokesperson for the Japanese government, involves the inclusion of the “My Number” ID card in iPhones. This card combines various personal information such as tax and social security data into a single digital identity for both Japanese citizens and foreign nationals. However, neither Apple, the Japanese government, nor JasmyCoin have confirmed any direct involvement of the cryptocurrency in this integration.
To understand the context, JasmyCoin is an Ethereum-based ERC-20 token focused on privacy and data security. It has been speculated by its community that it could complement Japan’s digital ID card system. This speculation partly stems from a 2023 press release by a Japanese company called Cyber Trust, which mentioned creating an “iTrust Authentication Service” using Blockchain technology. However, this service is different from the government-led “My Number” initiative.
Available on Android Devices
“My Number” cards, which serve as electronic certificates for identity verification, have been available on Android devices via the “Mynaportal” app since May of last year. Cyber Trust’s technology, as mentioned in their blogs, allows for authentication to be carried out with this app. However, there is no current indication that Cyber Trust’s iTrust service will be directly applied to iPhones.
Since there is no official confirmation, it appears that the “My Number” feature will be integrated into iPhones without including the iTrust Authentication Service. Users can use the iTrust service alongside the “My Number” feature. They can also use the electronic ID certificate stored on the “My Number” card.
Market Excitement Continues
Despite these clarifications, market excitement continues. Enthusiasts of JasmyCoin on social media platforms like Reddit have expressed bullish sentiments, interpreting the Japanese Prime Minister’s announcement about the My Number integration as a positive sign, even though it did not directly mention JasmyCoin.
At the time of writing, JasmyCoin is ranked number one among gainers on Binance and is trading at $0.03.
