Cathie Wood, founder of ARK Invest, asserted that Bitcoin (BTC) $91,362 will continue to reach significant price targets over the next five years. In an interview on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Wood expressed ARK Invest’s forecast that Bitcoin will surpass half a million dollars by 2030.
Bitcoin’s 2030 Target
Wood stated that in ARK Invest’s base scenario, Bitcoin is expected to reach approximately $650,000 by 2030. In a bull case scenario, this figure ranges between $1 million and $1.5 million. She highlighted that ARK Invest was the first public asset manager to invest in Bitcoin at $250 in 2015 and noted that it is currently valued around $90,000, indicating that Bitcoin’s value should increase further.
Wood attributed the anticipated rise in Bitcoin’s value to factors such as expected regulatory clarity, pro-crypto policies under U.S. President Donald Trump, and the adoption of traditional finance (TradFi). She also expressed her belief that declining inflation rates could lead to substantial increases.
Regulation and Institutional Adoption
In her comments, Wood stated, “First and foremost, we are experiencing regulatory relief, which I believe is one of the most significant things this administration is bringing. We will achieve regulatory relief for all types of innovation, including healthcare.”
She further remarked, “Bitcoin is now seen as a new asset class. This means that institutions and asset allocators often say, ‘Wait, this asset behaves differently from all our other assets; we need to include it.’ I believe this is the next big move.”
As of the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $91,287, having increased by 3.7% in the last 24 hours. Cathie Wood’s predictions serve as a significant reference point for understanding Bitcoin’s potential and market dynamics in the future. Factors such as regulatory changes and institutional adoption may play a critical role in Bitcoin’s long-term value appreciation.
