Web3 software technology company Aave Companies introduced the second version of Lens Protocol, which has made a big impact in the Web3 field, to the participants’ liking at the Devconnect event held in Istanbul today. According to the statements in the announcement, the update on the social media platform includes advanced solution proposals and other updates to enable developers to create new social experiences and earn money faster.
Notable Statements from the Lens Team
The Lens Protocol Team announced that all applications and Lens V1 profiles, including 11 million social connections and over 34 million social interactions in the ecosystem, have been migrated to Lens V2. Stani Kulechov, the founder and CEO of Lens Protocol, made the following statements regarding the matter:
“Lens V2 is the next chapter in the evolution of Lens. The goal of V1 was to highlight early Web3 social networks resulting from creativity, experimentation, and new discovery tools that benefit the Lens ecosystem. With V2, we are moving towards a more modular Lens design and encouraging the next wave of innovation by providing founders with more autonomy and flexibility to integrate the Web3 social network.”
Lens Protocol, which was launched on Polygon in May 2022, is a decentralized social platform used to create social media platforms. It enables social media activities to be stored in Web3 wallets through NFTs and data on the blockchain. The team first announced their plans for Lens V2 in July.
What Will Be Included in Lens V2?
Lens V2, which is still in beta, offers a range of services that provide developers with new tools to integrate Web3 supported features into any existing application on the Polygon network. Developers will also be able to create “Smart Posts” that support activities such as renting advertising space, payment options for reading, tipping, voting, verification, subscription, and donation.
The team also stated that bridging from Web2 to Web3 is now possible with solutions like Chainlink Functions, which integrate Web2 data and activities into the Lens Protocol, and that cross-chain functionality features such as creating a music NFT on Ethereum, bridging assets to Solana via Uniswap, or using Aave Liquidity Pools are now available in the Ethereum ecosystem.
