The Bitcoin $90,673 Voters Political Action Committee (PAC), which supports Bitcoin, has released a new campaign advertisement for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. According to PAC officials, this advertisement is currently airing in Pennsylvania. In U.S. elections, PACs support candidates, and since Trump is favored by the cryptocurrency-focused community, millions of dollars are being spent by crypto investors on his campaign.
Donald Trump
The advertisement portrays Trump as a pioneer of America’s technological advancement. The PAC believes that under Trump’s leadership, Bitcoin’s true potential will be realized, creating thousands of job opportunities. Consequently, the PAC thinks the former president can lead the United States to a prominent position in financial technology.
Such initiatives indicate growing support for Trump as the 2024 election date approaches. Data from the Polymarket platform reveals that Trump holds a 20% lead over his opponent Kamala Harris. While Harris’s chances stand at 39.9%, Trump appears to have a significantly higher probability at 59.9%.
Trump’s campaign also receives backing from several high-profile cryptocurrency leaders, including Tron founder Justin Sun. These individuals have donated their crypto assets to support the campaign. As of October 16, Trump’s supporters have raised approximately 7.5 million dollars in cryptocurrency donations.
However, as an exception, Chris Larsen, the President of Ripple $1 Labs, expressed admiration for Harris’s innovative economic understanding.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk contributed 75 million dollars to Trump’s campaign. Additionally, Musk is supporting the proposed Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E) initiatives and is campaigning alongside Trump. The acronym DOGE indeed reflects the recent double-digit price surge.
Kamala Harris
Kamala Harris has also garnered support from significant crypto leaders like Chris Larsen and Mark Cuban. Larsen noted his support for Harris’s experience in California’s tech hub and her understanding of the innovative economy, donating 1 million dollars in XRP Coin to back her campaign.
Throughout the campaign, both candidates have raised millions of dollars in support. Trump has emerged as the presidential candidate receiving the most backing from the cryptocurrency sector. The intense support highlights the role of technology in the electoral process, with donations via Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies shaping the candidates’ approaches to technology and economic policies.
