California Councilman Phillip Chen has appointed the nonprofit organization Proof of Workforce, based in Santa Monica, to work on various Bitcoin 
$104,415-related projects and assist in drafting a formal bill for the upcoming legislative session. This initiative aims to integrate Bitcoin into California’s infrastructure and support community engagement while enhancing understanding of Bitcoin’s role in the economy.
The Role of Proof of Workforce
Under Phillip Chen’s direction, Proof of Workforce aims to boost education and community participation by providing consultancy to policy teams. They will explore how Bitcoin can support and restructure California’s infrastructure and communities.
Dom Bei, the founder of Proof of Workforce, stated, “The origin story of Bitcoin is deeply connected to California. Much of this story relies on an innovative network designed to preserve the time, energy, and value of everyday workers. Bitcoin is neutral and uniquely Californian.”
