According to a report by BitMEX Research, Judge James Mellor ruled on March 14th that Craig Wright is not the pseudonymous creator of the Bitcoin network, Satoshi Nakamoto. The closing arguments in the case brought by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance against the Australian computer scientist Wright, who has claimed to be Nakamoto since 2016, began on March 12th in London.
Decision Reached in Craig Wright Case
Crypto Open Patent Alliance was seeking a preliminary injunction to prevent Wright from making further claims to be Nakamoto. Wright is accused of committing large-scale document forgery to support his claim of being the pseudonymous founder of Bitcoin. The closing presentation of the Crypto Open Patent Alliance included the following statement:
“It has been proven that Dr. Wright has lied on an extraordinary scale. He has invented an entire biographical history and produced a succession of fake documents to support it.”
The trial in question began on February 5th. Wright had offered to settle the case out of court on January 24th, but the Crypto Open Patent Alliance had refused.
