Most high market-cap cryptocurrencies started the day with gains, and the total market value of the crypto ecosystem surpassed $1.18 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap (CMC) data.
Bitcoin (BTC) Surpasses $30,000 Level
The leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC) briefly retraced to $29,700 levels in the morning hours, but it reached the $30,000 price levels during the day. After weeks of low volatility, the cryptocurrency market regained upward momentum yesterday.
With an average increase of 1.7% in the last 24 hours, Ethereum (ETH) started trading at $1,860 levels. Most high market-cap cryptocurrencies started the day with gains, influenced by the value increases in BTC.
The total market value of the crypto ecosystem surpassed $1.18 trillion, according to CMC data. Additionally, the volatility in the cryptocurrency market increased compared to the beginning of the week. According to Coinglass’ latest data, within the last 24-hour period, approximately $80 million worth of short and long positions were liquidated in the crypto market.
Highlighted Cryptocurrencies of the Day
Bitcoin (BTC) briefly surpassed the $30,000 price levels during the day but couldn’t sustain its gains and retraced to $29,700 levels in the morning hours. However, several cryptocurrencies recorded significant value increases after Bitcoin surpassed the $30,000 level.
Pepe coin (PEPE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Synthetix (SNX), Solana (SOL), Hedera (HBAR), and Toncoin (TON) ranked among the top-performing cryptocurrencies of the day in terms of percentage increases among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, according to CMC data.
On the other hand, despite the upward trend in the cryptocurrency market, some cryptocurrencies continued to lose value. XDC Network (XDC), Rocket Pool (RPL), Casper (CSPR), Algorand (ALGO), and Optimism (OP) were among the top cryptocurrencies in terms of percentage losses, despite the overall market gains.
