Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market continue to experience volatile price movements. Today, a decline in Bitcoin’s price was observed, contributing to a sense of unease in the market. A group of investors seems to be turning this price drop into an opportunity. So, what is happening in the cryptocurrency market and with Bitcoin?
Current State of Cryptocurrencies
Following the ATH in March, the cryptocurrency market is becoming increasingly noticeable with a potential reversal from the ongoing two-month downward trend. Data from May 10th indicates these signals, while crypto investors still seem to be searching for their path during this period.
In particular, the total cryptocurrency market value index appears to be worth $2.19 trillion, indicating that short-term upward trend support is being tested. Looking at the index, it was seen that since April 12th, it has been below the 30-day exponential moving average (30-EMA) at a level of $2.285 trillion.
Potentially surpassing this level could elevate the market to the highest level seen this year, $2.72 trillion.
On the other hand, it appears that the downward trend has continued since March 14th, which could change soon due to new movements in the market. The daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) experienced a divergence from the downward trend, which could be a sign of a possible reversal.
Bitcoin and Bulls’ Buying Activity
Examining social indicators from Santiment, the social volume and dominance of the word “buy” have receded to the lowest levels of the year. In a suitable environment, this lack of interest could generally parallel the formation of a market bottom.
One of Santiment’s key analysts, Brian Q, reached a similar conclusion regarding the crowd’s “buy the dip” slogans.
Looking at developments elsewhere in the world, significant events are occurring on the side of cryptocurrency exchanges like Binance and Kucoin. India appears to have allowed these exchanges again. Nevertheless, increasing pressures from regulatory bodies in the United States are causing popular Bitcoin exchanges and investors to gradually move away from the country.
Amidst all these developments, the price of Bitcoin continues to attract attention. As of this writing, Bitcoin is trading at a level of $60,505.
