Donald Trump, Jimmy Fallon, and Justin Bieber own nearly $10 million worth of cryptocurrency. The rapid progress of the cryptocurrency sector in recent years has led to an increase in the number of people entering the ecosystem in one way or another. Many prominent figures are now stepping into the asset class, and Donald Trump is a clear example of this.
Donald Trump and His Crypto Journey
According to blockchain data analysis platform Arkham Intelligence, the former president of the United States holds over $7 million in crypto assets, with more than 65% of his portfolio belonging to the memecoin project MAGA (TRUMP). Earlier this month, the token’s price significantly increased following reports that Trump was leading in five out of six swing states, including Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, and Georgia, against the current political leader Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential elections. Other assets in Trump’s portfolio include Ethereum, USDC, Pepe, and many more.
However, most of Trump’s assets may have been sent by other members of the cryptocurrency sector. After all, he was among the most vocal critics and had notable criticisms of Bitcoin while serving as America’s 45th President. Recently, though, he softened his tone, saying he could live with the leading crypto asset. Moreover, as his presidential campaign began accepting donations in cryptocurrencies, he positioned himself as the right choice for those supporting the crypto industry.
Famous Names and the Crypto Market
Other well-known individuals with crypto funds include Justin Bieber and Neymar Jr. The Canadian singer’s portfolio is valued at over $560,000, with Ethereum making up about 10% of the total amount. Brazilian football star Neymar Jr. holds over $66,000 in crypto assets. Ethereum (ETH) and ApeCoin (APE) constitute approximately 85% of his entire portfolio.
American TV host Jimmy Fallon and Hollywood actor Kevin Hart are also part of the ecosystem. The former owns nearly $140,000 worth of crypto assets, while the latter currently holds about $50,000 worth of cryptocurrency.
It’s interesting that some of these individuals have also been involved with NFTs. Justin Bieber made headlines in January 2022 by purchasing an NFT piece from the BAYC collection for 500 Ethereum, worth $1.3 million at the time. However, the NFT is now roughly valued at $45,000, representing a 96% loss.
