AirSwap defines itself as a decentralized, peer-to-peer token trading network supported by Ethereum. AirSwap aims to make token trading secure, simple, and free. What is Airswap (AST)?
The AirSwap platform operates by enabling users to communicate about which tokens they want to exchange and at what price. When both parties are ready to complete the exchange, the Swap Protocol, an Ethereum smart contract, executes the transactions.
The platform has the advantage of being a decentralized exchange because users have full control over their funds until the transaction is executed, giving both parties control over the transaction.
In addition, AirSwap’s founding partners are Michael Oved, Sam Tabar, and Don Mosites, who are also the founding partners of Fluidity, the parent company of AirSwap.
Unlike most exchanges, there is no fee to use AirSwap, so AST is not used to pay trading fees. Instead, it functions as a way to broadcast trades on the AirSwap network. Investors can also use AST for staking transactions.
