Web3 game blockchain network Immutable announced its integration with infrastructure provider Fireblocks to help game developers securely store and manage their assets. In a shared announcement, Immutable stated that the new integration allows game developers to store and manage assets related to game economies, NFTs, and decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
What’s Happening at Immutable?
Immutable also mentioned that the projects would enhance control over assets on Immutable’s Polygon-supported zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) chain. Immutable president and co-founder Robbie Ferguson said that Fireblocks infrastructure would help game developers manage assets in NFT and game transactions and ensure smooth operations in DeFi.
The Immutable team believes this new integration will reshape treasury management for games, developers, DeFi projects, and ecosystem partners on Immutable zkEVM. Besides asset management, the integration also contributes to security. Immutable believes that Fireblock’s security solutions will help ensure the security of crypto assets on the Immutable network.
Fireblocks is a security service provider that helps blockchain projects move, store, and issue crypto assets. The organization brings together wallets, custodians, and financial trade partners on a single platform. The company aims to become the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) system of the cryptocurrency space. On August 14, Fireblocks received a charter from the state of New York to provide crypto custody services to its clients in the United States. This allows the company to offer cold storage solutions to its clients in the US.
Details on the Subject
The new integration came after Immutable’s announcement to close its NFT marketplace. On August 8, the game and NFT blockchain network said it would close its marketplace on August 13 to expand its ecosystem through partnerships. The NFT ecosystem stated that the marketplace was created to showcase the capabilities of Immutable’s software development kit (SDK) and that projects have already been built since the network’s launch. Therefore, the network said it was time to end operations to see the growth of the Immutable Ecosystem.
As for user assets, they will remain tied to their wallets regardless of which game or marketplace they use. Immutable also stated that they use a global order book to help users see their listings on other marketplaces with the same feature.
