Jarett Dunn has filed an appeal regarding his attack on the Solana 
$162-based token launch platform, Pump.fun. His unexpected decision comes amid allegations of abuse of position and transferring illicit funds.
Details of the Attack
Two months ago, Dunn accepted his guilt for the attack on Pump.fun but now seeks to retract that admission. During the assault, he expressed a desire to “hopefully cause long-term harm” to the protocol.
Pump.fun is a meme coin factory built on Solana, responsible for some of the year’s most prominent tokens and various scams. During his attack, Dunn siphoned approximately $2 million and distributed the tokens to random addresses.
Legal Process and Representation Status
On Friday, Dunn appeared in London’s Wood Green Crown Court, facing over seven years in prison due to this attack. However, his withdrawal of the plea could potentially increase his sentence.
Dunn’s legal representatives withdrew from the case due to his desire to retract his plea, requiring him to find new representation within two weeks.
“Everyone stay calm; this is a robbery. I am about to change the course of history. Am I insane? No. Am I okay? Absolutely not. I want nothing,”
Dunn has garnered a significant following online for his candid discussions on philosophical thoughts and mental health struggles. He revealed his intention to withdraw the appeal regarding the Pump.fun case during the latest audit.
Attending Friday’s hearing alone, Dunn entered the court with friends and his girlfriend. When asked if he had found a new representative, he responded shyly.
Dunn noted that he has two weeks left to overcome this challenging situation and will continue to fight for his release.
Meanwhile, Pump.fun continues to operate after conducting significant SOL sales in recent weeks.
