Justin Sun Becomes Prime Minister of Liberland and Promotes Libertarian Ideals

Justin Sun, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency world, was elected as the Prime Minister of Liberland on October 6. In a post on the social media platform X, Sun expressed that his election is a great honor for him and emphasized the principles of freedom, minimal state intervention, and individual autonomy. He pointed out that Liberland represents not only a country but also a model embodying this philosophy. According to Sun, this approach is the most effective path to achieving economic prosperity.

Sun stated that the liberal policies implemented in Liberland are also backed by globally recognized innovators like Elon Musk. He mentioned that Musk believes that personal freedom and minimal state intervention are critical for fostering creativity, progress, and prosperity. Sun highlighted that if they succeed, other countries might become open to liberal principles, thereby achieving stability and prosperity without resorting to excessive regulation or coercive measures.

Sun further indicated that he will work to reduce government spending, alleviate the tax burden on citizens, and minimize intervention in people’s lives. He stated, “Liberland offers a strong example of how the relationship between a country and its citizens should be.” He believes all governments should operate in this manner.

Established in 2015 and located on the border between Serbia and Croatia, Liberland covers only 7 square kilometers and has yet to be officially recognized by any country or international organization. However, Sun’s election as Prime Minister and the country’s use of a fully algorithmic electoral system have once again drawn attention to this micro-nation.
