Pudgy Penguins, one of the Blue-Chip collections of the Ethereum network, announced the next stage of the project’s development. Accordingly, the announcement of Pudgy World, a Web3 game described by the company as an immersive and digital environment and supported by the Ethereum Layer-2 network zkSync Era, was made.
How Will the Pudgy World Process Continue?
The announcement by the Pudgy Penguins team was presented to the public during a special success period for the project. According to data obtained from Opensea, the base price of the NFT collection almost doubled in the last two weeks, and the brand recently launched its toys in 2,000 Walmart stores across the United States. Toy sales for the NFT project continue in half of the more than 4,000 branches in the US, and the team is expanding toy sales in many countries, primarily in the United Kingdom.
The announced Pudgy World game will be open to all players, but Pudgy NFT owners and Pudgy Toy owners will have unique advantages in the game’s virtual world. Although there are very few details about the game at the moment, the company introduced two hero characters, Pudgy and Peaches, who will guide players in the adventures awaiting them. Both characters were featured in the game’s animated launch trailer.
Attention-Grabbing zkSync Announcement from the Team
The company also announced that NFT owners will benefit from other users purchasing products related to the game’s ecosystem through copyright. In particular, the project’s initial founders had suggested creating a metaverse game, but were dismissed after the Pudgy Penguins community managers decided they had not kept their word on the matter.
According to the company, the zkSync deal was chosen by the Pudgy Penguins team because the Layer-2 network is the first zkEVM and the fastest proof system in production that scales Ethereum to a million developers and a billion users. The team stated the following on the subject:
