Following Ripple‘s recent victory in the lawsuit regarding the sale of XRP tokens between Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), legal experts have made statements about the future of the process.
Attorney Jeremy Hogan made a statement on October 21st on the X application. In this statement, he stated that, for all intents and purposes, the Ripple-SEC case has ended and the only thing left is to decide the fate of the $770 million asset.
No More Hearings
Hogan also added that the remaining part of the mentioned case has been dismissed and no new developments that could affect the course of the lawsuit will arise. According to him, there will be no hearing in 2024. The attorney stated that the court will only make a final decision, which will probably be concluded “next year”.
However, the attorney also noted that the final decision by the court cannot be announced on a specific date. In addition, he mentioned that if the mentioned scenario does not happen, both the SEC and Ripple can apply for an appeal. In this hypothetical possibility, he stated that the institution can calculate the chances of winning with the appeal application.
Regarding the “other distributions” of XRP, he said the following:
Judge Howey did not make any findings regarding Sections 2 and 3. Only the trial judge can do that. What would the judge decide? Who knows. But you have to consider the CHANCE of the judge ruling in favor of Ripple.
Can SEC Win the Lawsuit?
Finally, the attorney calculated the possibility of the SEC being justified in the appeal. He evaluated the SEC’s chances of “getting rid of more lawsuits and continuing the case against Ripple until 2026” as 2,367%. The low percentage drew attention.
Additionally, Bill Morgan, another figure closely following the lawsuit, stated that the SEC “lost badly and deserved it.” He also added that he hopes the securities watchdog “gives the worst penalties to Ripple in the penalty phase and the smallest possible penalties to the court.”

The next stage in the Ripple case is for both parties to come together and agree on remedies for violations related to the corporate sales of XRP.
Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett continues to share information about the SEC. According to the information she obtained, she stated that even if the institution withdraws the charges against Ripple executives, the case will not end. On October 20th, she made the following statement:
All aspects of the lawsuit, including the classification of all offers and sales of XRP as an investment scheme, are still on the table.
