Volatility declines as consolidation continues

Speaking on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Scaramucci described current market conditions as a “Bitcoin bear market,” pointing out that the cryptocurrency has been locked in its narrowest volatility band in five years for over two months. Since the outset of the conflict in Iran in February, Bitcoin’s price has remained largely flat, reflecting unusually low price swings for the world’s best-known cryptocurrency.

Scaramucci outlined three key factors contributing to this prolonged consolidation phase. First, he cited a shift in miner resources, as some miners redirect computing power into artificial intelligence ventures. Second, he pointed to significant capital moving from Bitcoin and other crypto assets into AI-related stocks. Third, Scaramucci referenced Bitcoin’s recurring four-year market cycle, which historically drives periods of accumulation ahead of new bull runs.

Despite the subdued price action, Scaramucci emphasized that Bitcoin has demonstrated greater resilience compared to previous bearish periods. He noted that the current drawdown stands at approximately 55% from the latest peak, a less severe correction than the 75% to 80% declines that characterized earlier cycles. According to Scaramucci, this reflects a market with robust buying interest as investors anticipate the next upward phase.

Despite the consolidation and reduced volatility, Bitcoin has weathered this downturn better than in past cycles, with a less pronounced drawdown and signs of significant net buying, according to Anthony Scaramucci. He expects prices to eventually climb above $100,000, but warns that the recovery could remain gradual for now.

Upcoming halving and institutional forecasts

Scaramucci maintains that the next bull market catalyst will arrive with Bitcoin’s supply reduction at the next halving event, which is expected to occur in about 18 to 19 months. He believes this halving will tighten supply sufficiently to push prices back above the $100,000 threshold, though he cautions that the climb could be slow and steady.

Meanwhile, Standard Chartered’s digital assets research team set an even more ambitious timeline for Bitcoin’s resurgence. In a June report, Geoffrey Kendrick, the bank’s global head of digital assets research, forecasted that Bitcoin will top $100,000 by the end of the year. This target signals a potential 55% rally from its current trading price of $64,350.

Kendrick remarked that if Bitcoin reaches $100,000 by the end of 2026, investors will likely view the current downtrend as a prime accumulation period.

With both analysts and institutions highlighting possible turning points, traders are closely monitoring technical signals and macroeconomic developments for early trends. In a market where a single Fed decision or a sudden altcoin listing can shift sentiment in seconds, investors increasingly turn to privacy-first aggregation tools like CryptoAppsy. These platforms consolidate real-time charts, news, alerts, and portfolio tracking on a unified screen without requiring an account, helping users avoid missing key moves across the Bitcoin and altcoin markets.

Market outlook

Bitcoin continues to trade in a tight price range, with traders and institutional players awaiting further confirmation before initiating substantial new positions. While some expect short-term rallies, the broader consensus remains focused on longer-term supply limits and the cyclical impact of halvings.

As macroeconomic uncertainties persist and the crypto market consolidates, investors and analysts are split over the timing of the next major rally. However, the prospect of a return to six-figure Bitcoin remains a recurring theme among both individual and institutional forecasters.
