Evernode, a Layer-2 network focusing on bringing smart contract capabilities to the XRP Ledger through Hooks, recently announced the completion of the Evers airdrop snapshot for XRP holders. The snapshot taken at the address “#82237135” on the XRP mainnet marks an important milestone for participants.
With the completed snapshot, XRP holders can now check their captured XRP balances and wait for the next stages of the airdrop. Evernode emphasizes the importance of being cautious and urges owners to protect their account information.
The Future of XRP
Evernode has provided an update for XRP holders to check their captured XRP balances for their accounts through an X sharing mechanism. This can be done by visiting the Bithomp explorer and entering their r-addresses. By setting the snapshot time at 8:00 AM UTC, account holders can view their XRP balances captured during the snapshot.
Notably, XRP-friendly exchanges Bitrue and Uphold have expressed their support for the EVRS airdrop. Users on these platforms became eligible for the Evernode airdrop by holding XRP during the snapshot.
What’s Next for XRP?
Evernode had previously provided information about the two-stage airdrop process. The first stage involved taking a snapshot of XRP assets on the mainnet on September 1st at 6:00 PM AEST (8:00 AM UTC). The second stage will be the airdrop itself, which will distribute to eligible accounts on the Hooks side-chain based on XRP assets on the mainnet. With the snapshot taken, XRP holders naturally expect the distribution to their accounts. Evernode announced in a separate tweet that Evers will not exist until Xahau is established.
Once Xahau is launched, Evernode can create Evers and provide further instructions on claiming the airdrop based on each user’s XRP balance at the snapshot time. Evernode’s foundation relies on Xahau Ledger, which functions as a side-chain for XRPL.
However, it is important to note that Xahau has not yet been released and has only published a whitepaper so far. As a result, ongoing Xahau airdrops do not involve giveaways, trust lines, or IOUs.
Therefore, Evernode advises XRP holders to be cautious and not share their keys with anyone. Users can be sure that cloning their XRP accounts and creating a trust line for the Evers airdrop does not require moving or burning any XRP from their XRPL accounts.
