Accounts Should Be Closed Immediately
Pledditor, an account sharing on X, argued that both the account claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto and another account sharing under the name “Bitcoin” were engaging in misleading and deceptive identities on the platform. According to the user, this violates the platform’s terms of service. The user defended these thoughts with the following statement:
“You cannot impersonate someone else without disclosing that you are a parody account. This is no different than creating a fake ‘Tesla’ or ‘Elon Musk’ account.”
According to the stated terms and conditions, there is a specific policy on X regarding misleading or deceptive identities. According to this policy, individuals, groups, or organizations cannot engage in identity theft or use fake identities to deceive other users.
Bitcoin and the crypto community have been debating the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto for years. However, it is claimed that the account shared on X was managed by a person named Andy Rowe in 2018. The most significant evidence supporting this claim is a tweet made by Rowe from his own X account on July 2, 2018. According to the tweet, Rowe explained that he compiled the Satoshi account for “quotes.”
Support Messages from the Crypto Community
The controversial Satoshi account last posted on October 31, 2018. On October 2, the account sharing about Bitcoin continued to make statements about different aspects of technical analysis in the coming months. Users within the crypto community supported Pledditor’s post and described the situation as embarrassing. Those advocating for the closure of the account by the X team said that this should happen immediately.
Another X user referred to the account named “internet” within the platform and made a call to the authorities. The true identity of Satoshi, the creator of Bitcoin, has remained a mystery to many people over the years.
The most significant claim regarding Satoshi’s identity belongs to Craig Wright. On July 21, a court in the United Kingdom ruled that Wright could appeal in the Bitcoin copyright case where he claimed rights to the Bitcoin white paper and database.
