The popular altcoin AVAX‘s mainnet, Avalanche, is preparing for a significant update. The Durango update, which addresses identified issues and enables communication among reliable EVM Blockchain networks, is expected to be applied to the mainnet in just one hour.
Final Hour for the Major Durango Update
The leading Blockchain network Avalanche reached an important milestone on February 13th with the introduction of the Durango update on the Fuji testnet, and the countdown has begun for its deployment on the mainnet.
The update, which has been tested on the Fuji testnet since its release, aims to improve Avalanche’s scalability, security, and interoperability.
Less than a month after its implementation on the Fuji network, the update is expected to be applied to the mainnet in about an hour. Accordingly, the update will be presented on the Avalanche mainnet at 17:00 TRT today and will be available for general use.
What is the Durango Update?
The Durango update is set to overcome many challenges and fix identified errors. The update will facilitate Blockchain network communications, especially unreliable cross-Blockchain interactions.
One of the most significant features of the update is the Avalanche Warp Messaging (AWM) technology, which enables direct communication between any two Blockchain networks on different subnets. AWM technology eliminates the need for third-party intermediaries, enhancing the efficiency and security of asset management.
The update also brings several improvements proposed by developers to enhance user experience and compatibility. These include enabling withdrawal transactions for native transfers on the P-Chain, simplifying the transfer of subnet ownership, and ensuring smart contract compatibility through the integration of the Ethereum Shanghai update.
In addition, the update reduces delays in failed requests and makes adjustments in VM implementation errors to facilitate network tasks.
