Merit Circle, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), focuses on enhancing the play-to-earn (P2E) economy. The project aims to create a new era of gaming where playing favorite games transcends being a simple hobby into a lucrative opportunity. Although launched on November 4, 2021, development has been underway since July 2021. Despite being a recent initiative, it boasts a large community with over 64,800 followers on Twitter.
What is Merit Circle (MC)?
Merit Circle currently supports the popular P2E project Axie Infinity, a monster battle game with the highest transaction volume. As play-to-earn models slowly expand into the crypto metaverse, employers and developers are acquiring skills that will soon be in high demand.
The DAO plans to support Star Atlas, Illuvium, and Hash Rush. For instance, Star Atlas is described as the most ambitious blockchain game, while Illuvium appears as a survival game set in an alien world, and Hash Rush is a sci-fi/fantasy RTS set in the fictional Hermeian galaxy, where players must build and battle once again.
While the concept behind Merit Circle is not entirely new, the project itself is a leading DAO with the aim of maximizing value accrual in various games based on the metaverse. Its platform is the intersection of capital, expertise, investors, the games represented by the platform and its managers, and of course, the players.
The potential returns the project could generate may translate into potentially life-changing earnings for some players. Players have recognized the value of the scholarship program created for them, and currently, there are over 500 scholars actively playing Axie Infinity.
In addition to benefiting players and liquidity providers, significant revenues are flowing into Merit Circle. More is expected, especially as Merit Circle DAO now begins to focus on other opportunities in the metaverse through new games.

All partners and a group of angel investors helped the company raise $4.5 million during its startup phase.
Additionally, according to a post on Merit Circle’s Medium, the project has been audited by one of the leading security assessment firms in the industry, Quantstamp. Initially, Quantstamp identified 12 points, analyzed all aspects of the project, and addressed the issues immediately, followed by code reviews by several top individual developers.
