Artificial intelligence (AI) company Rabbit rejected some claims by YouTube researcher Stephen Findeisen and stated that the company was clear about its rebranding and transition to AI. On May 22, Findeisen, better known as Coffeezilla, accused Rabbit of facilitating NFT fraud and attempting to conceal it. The researcher highlighted the company’s rebranding from Cyber Manufacture Co. to Rabbit; however, this seemed to have been overlooked.

Findeisen also claimed that Rabbit AI’s founder and CEO Jesse Lyu made many promises to the supporters of the Gama NFT project but failed to deliver on any of them. The researcher also brought up the company’s new Rabbit R1 AI product, describing it as overly hyped and labeling it as a scam, similar to the NFT project.

In a statement regarding the issue, a Rabbit spokesperson claimed that Rabbit and the Gama project were separate ideas and initiatives under the same company. The spokesperson referred to a technology media article published in 2023, which had previously stated that Rabbit rebranded from Cyber Manufacturing Co.

Prompt Response to the Issue

The spokesperson claimed that many employees joined the group after the rebranding. They stated that over 80% of Rabbit’s current employees joined after the rebranding, specifically after December 2023. The spokesperson also mentioned that the Gama project had already concluded while it was open source:

“Jesse strongly opposes Coffeezilla’s claims that he and the Gama team were not transparent about the project’s open-source usage and focus on AI hardware, which had the support of investors.”

The spokesperson also claimed that Lyu has a long history as an entrepreneur and has been involved in several projects, including Gama:

“It was a project he talked about extensively in the past, but it ended before Rabbit began. At the end of the day, many companies pivot.”

Regarding Findeisen’s comments about Rabbit R1, the company’s spokesperson said they receive use cases and feedback from users every day. The spokesperson claimed that 10,000 users of the product generated over 600,000 interactions in the last thirty days. The company also stated that they released updates addressing feedback and launched new features in the past month.
