Billy Markus, one of the founders of Dogecoin 
$0.232548, publicly announced that he will not engage in any new cryptocurrency projects or launch another meme project. In his recent statements, Markus also shared insights about a crypto project he created before Dogecoin.
Past Projects and Failures
Markus, known by the alias “Shibetoshi Nakamoto” on the X platform, revealed that he has not worked on any cryptocurrency projects since 2014. He noted that prior to the launch of Dogecoin in 2013, he had only signed off on one cryptocurrency, which he stated was a failure.
“I haven’t created any cryptocurrency apart from 2013 (excluding Dogecoin and the earlier Bells). I have not worked on any cryptocurrency since 2014. I will not create or work on any cryptocurrency after these two projects.”

Markus’s claims about not creating a new meme coin are not new. Despite followers trying to draw him back into the space by recalling Dogecoin’s success, they have been unsuccessful for years. Some users asked Markus what he would name a new meme coin if he were to start one, but he responded that he would not engage with such a project at all.
Opinions on Cryptocurrencies
Markus also responded to questions about whether MDOGE would be accepted as a payment method on Mars. He expressed that Ethereum 
$2,593 tokens are unsuitable for payment due to high transaction fees and stated these tokens are only used for gambling purposes. He shares a similar view regarding Solana 
$177 tokens. Markus has been recognized for his opposition to cryptocurrencies for years, and being a co-founder of Dogecoin does not alter this stance.
Markus stated that there are almost no good cryptocurrency projects left today, which he feels is not motivating enough to start a significant project. While Dogecoin continues to maintain a prominent position in the market, Markus’s decision will not have any impact on Dogecoin’s status.
He also issued a warning that there is a new Ethereum-based version of his past project, Bells, but reminded that it is not his project. Although this new project is based on codes written 11 years ago, Markus is not involved with it.
