Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, has alerted the crypto community about the rising threat of AI-generated deepfake videos. Zhao warned that false videos are circulating on social media, misleadingly depicting him as supporting certain tokens.
Warning Against Deepfake Videos
In a post on the X platform, Zhao emphasized that these videos are deceptive, as they present him speaking about cryptocurrencies he has never invested in. He urged users to remain vigilant against such misleading content.

These AI-generated videos are a result of deep learning algorithms producing misleading content. Zhao’s warning serves as a crucial alert against the increasing prevalence of AI-assisted fraud within the crypto world.
Incidents of Deepfake Attacks
Deepfake videos powered by AI are becoming widespread not only in the crypto sector but also among celebrities. Instances of fake videos featuring Taylor Swift and Donald Trump have raised significant security concerns.

In response to these threats, Binance is advising its followers to steer clear of fraudulent accounts, while Zhao is expected to participate in a crypto event in Dubai on October 30-31 after a long hiatus.
As AI technologies advance rapidly, digital security measures must also adapt to keep pace. The internet’s capability for rapid misinformation dissemination poses additional challenges, particularly with the chaos deepfake videos could exacerbate.
In this context, Binance and other platforms play a leading role in quickly informing users and ensuring their security. Creating regular warning lists regarding such videos could be particularly beneficial.
