Moonbeam is an Ethereum 
$0.000142-compatible smart contract parachain on Polkadot. Moonbeam simplifies the use of popular Ethereum developer tools to create or redeploy Solidity projects in a Substrate-based environment. Glimmer coin is the native cryptocurrency of the Moonbeam project.
What is Glimmer (GLMR)?
Moonbeam emerges as the project behind the Glimmer token, serving as a decentralized smart contract platform. This token is at the heart of Moonbeam’s design and doesn’t compromise on core functionality. Some of the uses of the Glimmer token in Moonbeam are as follows:
- Supporting transaction fees for executing smart contracts
- Powering the mechanics to incentivize collators and create a decentralized node infrastructure on which the platform can operate
- Facilitating the on-chain governance mechanism, including proposing referenda, electing council members, voting, etc.
- Paying transaction fees on the network
Moonbeam targets an annual inflation rate of 5%, meaning the token supply is unlimited.
The purpose of inflation in Moonbeam is to meet the ongoing security needs of the network. Primary security budget items include continuously paying for a parachain and incentivizing collators to support the Moonbeam network by providing collation (block production) services. 1% of the 5% inflation will go to incentivize partners, and 1.5% will accumulate in the parachain bond reserve to pay for a parachain indefinitely.
On the other hand, Moonbeam is described as much more than just an EVM implementation: it is a highly specialized parachain that mirrors Ethereum’s Web3 RPC, accounts, keys, subscriptions, logs, and more. The Moonbeam platform extends the core Ethereum feature set with additional features such as on-chain governance, staking, and cross-chain integrations.

Where to Buy GLMR Coin?
Glimmer Coin can be bought and sold securely through Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume. GLMR Coin is traded on the Binance platform in the GLMR/BTC, GLMR/USDT, and GLMR/BUSD pairs.
