Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum (ETH) $3,307, has announced changes in the leadership structure of the Ethereum Foundation (EF). These changes aim to address long-standing concerns from the Ethereum community regarding communication and support.
Innovations in Communication and Support
In a statement on January 18 on the X platform (formerly Twitter), Buterin clarified that the purpose of the leadership change includes providing support to decentralized application (dApp) developers and strengthening three core principles: decentralization, censorship resistance, and privacy.
Avoiding Lobbying with Regulators
Buterin emphasized that the EF will avoid lobbying with regulators on behalf of Ethereum. He pointed out the importance of Ethereum being a neutral platform, stating that such proposals could weaken Ethereum’s global role.
Such activities are not part of what the EF does and will not change. Those seeking a different vision can establish their own organizations.

New Leadership Proposals
Joseph Lubin, another co-founder of Ethereum and CEO of Consensys, proposed the establishment of a new leadership structure within the EF. Lubin called for the replacement of current executive director Aya Miyaguchi with Danny Ryan and Jerome de Tychey.
Having Jerome and Danny lead the EF will provide the energy and creativity needed for the Ethereum community to stand out as the most trusted blockchain ecosystem globally.

Jerome de Tychey also called for reforms within the EF, highlighting the need for improved communication and simplification of the Foundation’s messages. He noted that Ethereum’s strength lies in its ability to adapt and evolve collaboratively.
The power of Ethereum lies in its ability to cooperate and grow together. Together, we will shape the next chapter of Ethereum and make it even stronger.
Jerome de Tychey
These changes reflect the Ethereum Foundation’s efforts to communicate more effectively with the community and enhance its technical capabilities. With the new leadership, the EF aims to foster the development of the Ethereum ecosystem and improve user support.
With the appointment of new leaders, the Ethereum Foundation is expected to showcase a more inclusive and transparent structure in future projects. These changes are believed to better respond to the needs of the Ethereum community.
