Binance, recognized as the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, announced it will delist three major tokens—ICON (ICX), Secret (SCRT), and Storj (STORJ)—from its platform next month. The decision affects both spot and futures trading, with users urged to prepare for upcoming changes involving these assets.

Spot and futures trading set for removal

Starting September 3, 2026, Binance will remove ICX, SCRT, and STORJ from all spot trading pairs. This action follows a period of monitoring in which Binance evaluated the tokens’ volatility and risk. The platform stated that the affected assets no longer meet its listing criteria, prompting the removal. Binance frequently reviews listed assets to ensure they align with its standards for user protection, reliability, and market stability.

Binance clarified, “Spot trading for ICON, Secret, and Storj pairs will cease on September 3, 2026, and these assets will also be removed from futures trading and available margin products in the days leading up to the delisting.”

The platform added that its futures markets involving these tokens will close and existing positions will be settled automatically on August 26. New positions tied to these tokens will be prohibited after that time. Binance will also suspend borrowing for ICX, SCRT, and STORJ on its Margin platform starting August 21, removing them from Cross, Isolated, and Portfolio Margin facilities by August 26.

Mini dictionary: ICON (ICX), Secret (SCRT), and Storj (STORJ) are altcoins traded on major crypto exchanges. ICON is designed for interoperable decentralized applications, Secret focuses on privacy-enhancing smart contracts, and Storj offers decentralized cloud storage solutions built on blockchain networks.

Withdrawal deadlines and asset conversion

Binance set a series of key deadlines for users holding these assets. Deposits of ICX, SCRT, and STORJ will be halted after September 4, meaning any deposit attempts after this date will not be credited. However, holders are provided with an extended withdrawal period, with the final deadline set for November 3. This gives users over two months to withdraw or convert their holdings as they see fit.

Users who fail to withdraw their tokens before November 3 will have their remaining balances automatically converted into stablecoins the following day. Binance noted that all processes are designed to protect users and provide ample time for the transition away from these tokens.

Platform’s ongoing asset review process

Binance stated this move is part of its ongoing asset monitoring process, which regularly evaluates the performance and suitability of listed cryptocurrencies on the exchange. The company has emphasized that maintaining rigorous standards is essential to user security and operational stability, particularly as token markets evolve rapidly.

Binance is a global cryptocurrency exchange platform known for listing and trading hundreds of digital assets. It frequently updates its roster to adapt to market trends, regulatory requirements, and the evolving needs of its user base. Delistings typically occur when a token becomes especially volatile or fails to meet specific benchmarks for trading activity or security.

The company noted, “Holders should ensure they withdraw or convert their funds by the deadlines provided, as remaining assets will be converted to stablecoins after these dates.”

The affected assets represent only a fraction of the tokens available on the exchange. The delisting campaign follows Binance’s policy of prioritizing the safety and interests of its users while adapting to shifts in the cryptocurrency landscape.
