Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, announced the addition of four tokens to its Monitoring Tag list, a designation applied to assets that face potential removal due to not meeting the platform’s listing standards.
New tokens under closer review
The exchange identified AVA, GNS, SCR, and TOWNS as the latest additions to the Monitoring Tag list, with the change set to take effect on September 4, 2026. These tokens will now be subject to intensified scrutiny and regular project evaluations following recent performance assessments.
Binance stated that tokens marked with the Monitoring Tag may exhibit higher-than-average volatility and risk compared to other listed coins. For users, the Monitoring Tag will be visible on both the Binance Spot and Binance Margin trading pages, as well as the Markets Overview page. Additionally, risk warning banners will appear on all trading interfaces involving these assets.
The platform periodically reviews projects tagged for monitoring and will determine, in future assessments, whether to retain the designation or remove it if compliance improves. Binance confirmed that trading and related services for these assets remain unchanged for now.
Binance will display the Monitoring Tag on assets that are not fully compliant with its listing criteria and has implemented enhanced risk warnings to notify users of potentially unstable tokens.
Some of these tokens may not be available to users in certain jurisdictions, including the UK, as Binance reminded its user base during the announcement.
Binance Alpha set to delist multiple assets
On the same date as the new Monitoring Tag changes, Binance Alpha, a division within Binance focused on featuring new and experimental tokens, will remove 14 tokens from its featured list after an extensive compliance review. This action is scheduled for September 4, 2026, at 8:30 UTC.
The tokens set for removal include: MTP (Multiple Network), BDXN (Bondex Token), TALE (PrompTale AI), BOS (BitcoinOS), MAIGA (Maiga.ai), TIMI (MetaArena), SAROS (Saros), U (Union), SERAPH (SERAPH), RVV (REVIVE), AIAV (AI Avatar), PENGUIN (Nietzschean Penguin), ODOS (Odos), and SN3 (Nebula3).
Binance Alpha will continue to support withdrawals and enable users to sell these tokens on its platform, despite their removal from the featured section.
Four tokens, AVA, GNS, SCR, and TOWNS, will move to closer scrutiny while 14 other tokens will be delisted from Binance Alpha, but users can still withdraw or sell the affected assets after the change.
Binance operates as a global digital asset exchange, offering trading and other services for a wide range of cryptocurrencies to millions of users worldwide.
