Shiba Inu has seen renewed exchange inflows amid an unsuccessful attempt at short-term recovery, resulting in a less favorable near-term outlook for the token. On-chain metrics show that the average inflow size rose by 0.48% to 1.15 billion SHIB, while total exchange inflows increased 0.65% to approximately 268.14 billion SHIB.
Exchange flows indicate mixed sentiment
When accounting for the latest changes in exchange flows, roughly 468 billion SHIB have been transferred to exchanges within 24 hours. This heightened activity suggests traders may be positioning themselves to act quickly, as tokens sent to exchanges are often considered available for immediate trading or sale.
Nevertheless, on-chain data highlights that inflows alone do not necessarily signal impending sales from holders. Outflows remain a key indicator and provide crucial perspective on overall market behavior.
The seven-day moving average of mean exchange outflows jumped 62.69% to about 734.49 million SHIB. Simultaneously, total exchange outflows climbed 1.77% to nearly 438.71 billion SHIB. These numbers show that, while more SHIB is entering exchanges, outflows have also grown significantly.
During the same period, exchange reserves declined 0.2% to 87.23 trillion SHIB. Netflow, a metric tracking the balance between inflows and outflows, recorded a negative change of about -170.57 billion SHIB. This indicates a continued net movement of tokens away from exchanges, despite the uptick in inflows.
Price action and technical signals
The price of SHIB has responded with limited volatility, falling roughly 2% and trading near $0.00000515, having broken below its short-term rising trendline established since the August low. The price is now positioned close to the 20-day moving average, just above $0.00000517, and faces a test at nearby support levels.
Key technical thresholds include the 50-day moving average around $0.00000494 and the 100-day moving average near $0.00000504. These support zones are likely to attract particular attention as traders weigh the risk of further retracement.
Momentum indicators also reflect market uncertainty. The relative strength index has slipped to about 49.7, falling back to a neutral stance and resting just below its signal average.
Recovering the $0.00000540–$0.00000550 range would restore some bullish short-term structure, but the 200-day moving average at roughly $0.00000566 continues to represent a significant barrier.
Market monitoring remains crucial
In a market where factors such as Federal Reserve decisions or surprise altcoin listings can trigger immediate price shifts, efficient market monitoring has become increasingly vital. Smart traders are turning to privacy-first tools like CryptoAppsy, which allow instant access to real-time charts, smart alerts, token-specific updates, and macroeconomic data in a unified interface, all without requiring account creation. This consolidation helps prevent delays and missed opportunities that can arise from managing multiple apps for different market needs.
While the recent 468 billion SHIB inflow offers reason for attention, a broader look at exchange flows, price movement, and technical support zones shows no definitive evidence of large-scale selling at this stage. The immediate focus remains on whether SHIB can maintain its position above key moving averages to avoid a deeper price decline.
