Dogecoin recovered from its latest selloff, regaining ground above $0.088 after briefly falling toward the $0.08 region. The rebound coincides with a broader uptick in meme coins and heightened activity from major Dogecoin holders.

Whale accumulation strengthens DOGE’s support

On-chain data tracked by several analysts indicates that wallets holding at least 100 million DOGE accumulated approximately 240 million tokens during the recent market weakness. This surge in whale purchases has played a significant role in maintaining the long-established $0.081 support level.

The continued interest from large holders suggests that the $0.081 zone remains a key area for Dogecoin price defense. Many analysts see this accumulation as a sign of confidence among the most influential participants in the Dogecoin network.

Dogecoin’s support at $0.081 has repeatedly drawn buying interest from major holders, contributing to market stability amid volatility and underscoring its importance for further price action.

With DOGE currently trading near $0.088, analysts note that the next immediate challenge is the $0.093–$0.095 resistance area.

Major resistance and upside targets

Coinpaper, a cryptocurrency insights platform, identified the $0.093–$0.095 zone as the key resistance separating Dogecoin’s current recovery from a more decisive breakout. A successful close above $0.095 could open the door for DOGE to test the psychological $0.10 mark.

To move from $0.088 to $0.10, Dogecoin would need a rally of about 14%. Achieving this milestone would not only represent a technical breakthrough but could also signal improved momentum for the meme coin sector as a whole.

Beyond $0.10, Coinpaper analysts outlined $0.12 and $0.15 as subsequent targets. Reaching $0.15 from the current level would require gains of around 70%, an advance that may demand favorable overall market conditions, strong performance from Bitcoin, and increased meme-coin enthusiasm.

ETF withdrawal highlights DOGE’s retail focus

While whales have been active, Dogecoin lags behind leading assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP in attracting institutional demand through ETFs. Bitwise, an asset management firm, announced that it will close its BWOW Dogecoin ETF. Trading in the fund is set to end after October 14, and liquidation is scheduled for later in the month.

Bitwise stated that the decision results from a strategic review of its product offerings rather than DOGE’s performance. Nevertheless, this closure underscores Dogecoin’s heavy reliance on retail trading, major holders, and speculative momentum compared to coins with substantial ETF flows.

As institutional support remains limited, DOGE’s price dynamics will likely continue to be shaped by retail traders and large accumulation events.

Mini dictionary: Bitwise is a US-based asset manager known for its cryptocurrency index funds and thematic ETFs, including offerings tied to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and select altcoins. The firm regularly reviews its lineup to optimize based on demand and market focus.

Bitwise confirmed the discontinuation of its Dogecoin ETF, emphasizing that the move reflects ongoing adjustments to its suite of investment products rather than specific concerns about DOGE itself.
