The Bitwise Chainlink ETF recently attracted approximately $10 million in new capital over a two-day period, according to data from SoSoValue. Despite this increase in investment, the fund’s total net assets declined during the same timeframe, reflecting recent price depreciation in Chainlink’s LINK token.
ETF inflows rise amid price decline
The additional capital came as the value of LINK, the fund’s primary holding, experienced a downturn. While investors sought to increase their exposure, LINK’s falling price reduced the overall value of assets held by the ETF.
Cumulative net inflows into the Bitwise Chainlink ETF reached roughly $179.61 million. However, total net assets dropped from $249.41 million to $229.38 million, highlighting the impact of market fluctuations on asset values.
Despite attracting new investment, the ETF’s assets fell to $229.38 million, down from $249.41 million, following the token’s recent price drop.
Blockchain analytics platform Arkham reported that Bitwise also received a $1.17 million LINK transfer from Wintermute, a prominent market maker. This transaction was one of several recent deposits connected to the ETF, indicating consistent institutional participation in Chainlink.
Chainlink dominates the oracle sector
Chainlink operates as the leading oracle provider in decentralized finance (DeFi), delivering external data and price feeds to blockchain ecosystems. Data from DeFiLlama shows that Chainlink currently secures around 60.28% of all tracked oracle value, supporting approximately $36.6 billion across more than 530 protocols.
In comparison, internal oracles represent 13.10% of the market, while Chronicle holds an 8.19% share. Chainlink’s wide margin over competitors underscores its significance as lending markets, derivatives platforms, and tokenized assets depend heavily on reliable oracles for data accuracy.
However, high market share alone does not necessarily translate into increased demand for the LINK token. The token’s value depends on whether protocol growth leads to additional on-chain usage involving LINK.
| Oracle Provider | Market Share (%) | Value Secured | Protocols Supported |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chainlink | 60.28 | $36.6 billion | 530+ |
| Internal Oracles | 13.10 | — | — |
| Chronicle | 8.19 | — | — |
CCIP v2.0 expands institutional focus
Chainlink is broadening its offerings beyond DeFi price feeds, aiming to build core infrastructure for institutional clients. Its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) enables data and asset transfers between different blockchain networks, including support for tokenized traditional assets like equities and treasuries.
The launch of CCIP v2.0 introduced enhancements for institutional compliance and advanced cross-chain functionality, providing organizations with greater control and security when handling tokenized assets.
Industry observers expect that increased adoption of CCIP could lead to recurring network fees as institutions progress from pilot projects to full-scale operations. Nevertheless, the impact on LINK’s price will depend on whether usage of these new services translates into direct demand for the token.
Currently, despite fresh inflows, the Bitwise Chainlink ETF’s asset value has fallen, reflecting LINK’s recent price pressures in the broader market.
Mini dictionary: CCIP (Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol), developed by Chainlink, is a protocol that allows data and asset transfers across multiple blockchain networks and is designed to meet the needs of both decentralized finance and institutional clients.
