Samsung announced that its Wallet app will soon support USDC transfers over the Sui blockchain for eligible Galaxy device users in the United States. The rollout, scheduled for later in November, will make Sui the second blockchain network to integrate with Samsung’s Stablecoin Account service after Solana.
Expanding Blockchain Options for Samsung Wallet
This integration comes after Samsung launched USDC support on Solana on November 2. By adding Sui, Samsung aims to broaden its stablecoin service to more Galaxy devices across the country. The company estimates that the Sui feature could reach approximately 82 million compatible Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the US.
With the integration, users will be able to transfer USDC without needing to install an additional crypto wallet. All features are accessible through the familiar Samsung Wallet interface, simplifying the experience for new and existing users.
Samsung noted that users no longer need to understand the complexities of digital wallets or transaction fees to send USDC, making cryptocurrency payments as accessible as conventional money transfers.
The Sui Foundation, an organization focused on developing and promoting the Sui blockchain, stated that this is part of a broader mission to make digital assets easier to use in everyday life.
No Gas Fees or SUI Token Required
One major distinction of Sui’s implementation is its approach to fees. Traditionally, most blockchains require users to pay transaction fees in the native network token, such as ETH or SOL, even when sending stablecoins like USDC.
Sui eliminates the need for users to hold SUI tokens for these transactions. For transfers supported on Samsung Wallet, there is no network fee, and users do not need to purchase SUI to complete a transfer.
This functionality leverages Sui’s gasless stablecoin transfer system, a feature introduced to the mainnet in May 2026. Through this system, background processes handle the necessary blockchain operations so users can send USDC directly, focusing only on the transaction itself.
At this stage, SUI tokens will not be available within Samsung Wallet. The service is limited to USDC transfers, with plans for future features remaining under discussion.
Sui, developed by Mysten Labs, has reported more than $1 trillion in stablecoin transfers since August 2025. The network integrated native USDC in 2024 and later added compatibility with Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol.

Sui uses a Proof-of-Stake consensus model and is known for its focus on scalability and user-friendly features such as gasless stablecoin transfers.
Current Status of Solana Integration
Samsung’s Solana-based stablecoin service allows eligible users to buy, hold, send, and receive USDC within the Wallet app. According to an update from the Solana Foundation, customers can send USDC to other Samsung Wallet users, as well as to external wallets and qualified bank accounts.
Supported international transfers cover qualifying bank accounts in over 60 countries, and recipients may receive funds in their local currencies. Samsung does not apply fees for wallet-to-wallet USDC transfers. However, additional charges may arise from payment providers for receiving funds and for specific bank transactions depending on the destination and amount transferred.
| Network | USDC Transfer Fee | Native Token Needed? | Launch Date | Device Requirements |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solana | No Samsung fee | Not required | November 2, 2026 | Galaxy, Android 13+ |
| Sui | No fee | Not required | Later in November 2026 | Galaxy, Android 13+ |
The service is open to US residents aged 18 and above with qualifying Galaxy devices running at least Android 13, but excludes users in New York. Registration requires identity and biometric verification.
To support stability and compliance, Bastion supplies regulated stablecoin account infrastructure, while Coinbase serves as a sub-custodian through Coinbase Prime Vault. Samsung itself does not hold customer funds or function as a financial institution.
Potential for Future Developments
Looking ahead, Samsung has expressed interest in expanding wallet features. The company has discussed adding tap-to-pay support and enabling both online and in-store stablecoin payments for Galaxy smartphone users.
Park Hyun-soo, managing director at Samsung Global Research, indicated that Korean won-based stablecoins could also become available on Samsung Wallet if South Korean regulators establish a suitable legal framework. He noted that the adoption of stablecoins at scale could impact banking activities and monetary policy.
Woncheol Chai, Samsung’s head of Digital Wallet, highlighted that stablecoins can streamline global money transfers, offering faster and more seamless movement of funds.
