Over the weekend, YGG Coin, which saw its price reach $1 on Monday, is now making headlines with a new announcement. The YGG team, which announced its integration with the Ethereum L2 solution, Base Network, aims to diversify the company’s revenue.
YGG Coin News
Yield Guild Games (YGG) is moving its gaming ecosystem to the Base Network developed by Coinbase. By moving its gaming platform to Base, YGG aims to create more specific and engaging missions in collaboration with Base and game developers on Base. The announcement made around 16:00 stated:
“Base is a secure and low-cost Ethereum L2 solution designed to introduce millions of users to blockchain ecosystems. As the team believes that decentralization is the key to creating an open and accessible global crypto economy, the protocol aims to gradually decentralize in the coming years. Base provides an easy-to-use platform for developers to create dapps and reach millions of verified users in the Coinbase ecosystem.”
YGG was one of the first projects to launch its application to receive the Genesis Builder NFT, a commemorative token that recognizes the first stakeholders building on the Base protocol.
Base and YGG Coin
The Base Network, which will be made public today, is already attracting a lot of attention. With the activation of the Ethereum bridge last week, millions of dollars worth of assets were bridged within hours. Moreover, due to its speed and low transaction fees, Base maintains its appeal. In the multi-chain future, it is expected that Ethereum Layer 2 solutions will gradually reduce the market share of layer 1 blockchains like Solana and Aptos.
Daryl Xu, Coinbase’s Gaming Partnerships Lead, commented on YGG Coin’s move today:
“We are excited about integrating YGG’s robust mission systems into Base, as it will engage users with fun missions. We look forward to interacting with the YGG community and contributing to the growth and future of on-chain gaming.”
Gabby Dizon, co-founder of YGG, said:
“We are thrilled to collaborate with the Base team and benefit from their expertise in integrating YGG’s mission systems into games built on their protocols. Base, launched by Coinbase, one of the world’s largest crypto exchanges, presents a great opportunity to introduce millions of verified users to blockchain-based games, advance crypto adoption, and grow the community.”
For now, the price doesn’t seem to be affected by the latest news, and YGG Coin is far from its $1 target.
