Keep3rV1 was initially announced on October 22, 2020, and launched in beta mode on the Ethereum mainnet on October 28, 2020. It is a decentralized platform designed to facilitate coordination between projects that need to outsource external development operations and those who can provide these necessary services.
What is Keep3rV1 (KP3R)?
Keep3rV1 acts as a job board facilitating interaction between job postings, like decentralized finance protocols, and job managers known as Keepers. The tasks performed by Keepers range from sending and calling on-chain transactions to completing off-chain complex tasks. Keep3rV1 uses an ERC-20 token, KP3R, for governance and to provide rewards to Keepers.
On the other hand, Keep3rV1 aims to alleviate the challenges faced by blockchain-based projects that use numerous smart contracts to power increasingly complex systems. These projects often require external actors to complete tasks, and Keep3rV1 is designed as a decentralized ecosystem for projects and developers to work together more efficiently.
The network relies on Keepers who provide smart contracts, bots, or scripts capable of performing transactions or triggering events. To use the platform, a project presents a smart contract that is reviewed and approved by a Keeper, who deposits and locks KP3R in the platform. Projects can set rules regarding what qualifies Keepers to take a job, such as a minimum bound KP3R stake or a certain number of jobs completed beforehand. Keepers are rewarded in KP3R for completing jobs, though a project can offer Ether (ETH) equivalent credits in exchange for KP3R.
Keep3rV1 was founded by Andre Cronje, a blockchain engineer and application developer. Cronje is also the name behind the popular recent DeFi project yearn.finance (YFI).
