Cryptocurrency investors had an important day as significant announcements are being made at the conference organized by Nvidia. This event also includes crypto companies and is relevant for tokens in the AI sector. So, what happened today, and why is B200 creating such excitement?
Nvidia Conference
The conference has just started, and Nvidia has made significant announcements. The CEOs of Near and RNDR will also speak at this event soon. We mentioned earlier on Sunday that this program could impact the markets.
Indeed, yesterday the RNDR Coin price reached an all-time high of $13.83. Despite profit-taking, the evident rise provided investors the opportunity to buy under $10 and sell at $13.8 within hours.
Nvidia kicked off its annual GPU Technology Conference (GTC) with a keynote by founder and CEO Jensen Huang. The GTC, attended by industry leaders like OpenAI, Microsoft, Amazon, and Google, is a significant event as it sheds light on Nvidia’s AI initiatives and partnerships.
Nvidia and Blackwell B200
The Blackwell B200 was finally introduced. It’s nice to see more details about this chip. After taking the stage to start the company’s annual developer conference, Executive Chairman Jensen Huang said (referring to the growing interest), “I hope you realize this is not a concert.”
The B200 contains 208 billion transistors, a significant increase from the previous 80 billion. All these transistors can access the chip’s connected memory almost simultaneously, further enhancing efficiency.
Tom Plumb, CEO and portfolio manager of Plumb Funds, stated that the Blackwell chip’s unveiling was not a surprise.
“However, it emphasizes that the company is still at the forefront and leading in all graphics operations. This does not mean the market isn’t big enough for AMD and others to enter. But it shows that their leadership is quite insurmountable.”
At the GTC 2024 developer conference, Nvidia announced five new Omniverse Cloud APIs that can be used individually or together to connect applications or workflows to the platform for interoperability, using OpenUSD, a high-performance extensible format for defining animated 3D scenes for large-scale film and visual effects production.
Mike Rockwell, Vice President of Apple Vision Products Group, said;
“The groundbreaking ultra-high-resolution displays of Apple Vision Pro, combined with the photorealistic rendering of OpenUSD content transferred from Nvidia accelerated computing, offer an incredible opportunity for developing immersive experiences. Spatial computing will redefine how designers and developers create captivating digital content, initiating a new era of creativity and interaction.”
This suggests that the likelihood of the metaverse narrative becoming a reality has increased compared to 2021. The big achievements of crypto and artificial intelligence working together were among the topics discussed.
