Innovations in the blockchain sector are being monitored all around the world, and governments are vying to attract companies that develop this new technology. Some of the best examples include the UAE and Asian countries. Though the USA already hosts massive crypto companies, it has not yet fully utilized its potential due to regulatory uncertainties. But what about Turkey?
Ministry of Youth and Sports Blockchain Summit
A Blockchain summit will be organized at the central campus of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Altındağ, on the 15th, 16th, and 17th of December. The event that starts today is something we have grown accustomed to seeing in Turkey for a while now. To date, various hackathons and programs have been organized. However, we have yet to produce massive enterprises in this field.
The Youth and Sports Minister and Deputy Minister Emin Emioğlu made the opening speech at the event that started this afternoon. Sessions on Blockchain Technology and the Role of Youth in the Blockchain Ecosystem and the Application Areas of Blockchain Technology in Public Institutions and Organizations were held, and a 24-hour Hackathon will start on Saturday.
GSB Blockchain Hackathon
A hackathon is an event where experts in the field develop products throughout the duration of the event, and the successful ones are rewarded at the end. It can be described as a technical competition, which provides an opportunity for those who want to create a network in their field and teams who want to document their success to prove themselves. In the event that starts today, developers will be able to prepare products in 6 different areas:
- Blockchain solutions in education
- e-Government integrations
- Natural disasters and emergencies
- Data security in the health sector
- Transportation and logistics
- Smart city projects
On the evening of the third day, at 17:45, the top three projects will receive prizes of $5000, $3000, and $2000, respectively.
