One of Turkey’s largest banks, Garanti BBVA, has launched its cryptocurrency wallet and transfer application, Garanti BBVA Kripto. Initially focusing on the secure storage of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and USD Coin (USDC), the application is currently only available for download on the iOS platform. It is expected that the application will soon be available for the Android platform as well.
As known, Garanti BBVA had opened its cryptocurrency wallet and transfer service, Garanti BBVA Kripto, to pilot use in August of this year. Initiated with an internal email, this service was first offered to bank employees. According to Webrazzi’s report, after a 5-month period, the Garanti BBVA Kripto application has been officially made available to everyone on the iOS platform.
At the moment, the application only offers secure storage for the largest cryptocurrency, BTC, the largest altcoin, ETH, and the second-largest stablecoin, USDC. It is expected that the supported cryptocurrencies will be expanded over time.
