The ongoing rise in cryptocurrency prices since last week was crowned yesterday afternoon as Bitcoin reached the $52,000 level. This price level has not been seen since December of 2021. On the Ethereum side, the price was observed to rise to the $2,800 level for the first time in two years. Meanwhile, other top altcoins such as XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA) also recorded significant gains.
Current State of Bitcoin and Altcoins
Bitcoin’s price surpassed the $52,000 mark yesterday afternoon and continues to stay above this level as of the time of writing. After a 5.94% increase in Bitcoin’s price, it reached $52,169.84 as of Thursday, February 15.
On the other hand, the trading volume has seen a 27.55% increase in the last 24 hours, reaching $43.23 billion. It also surpassed the market value of $1.02 trillion for the first time in two years.
When examining altcoins, the price of Ethereum has risen by 6.22% as of the time of writing, reaching $2,791.67, with a market value of $335.26 billion.
The trading volume of ETH has increased by 43.85%, reaching $23.8 billion. Leading altcoin Solana’s price moved away from the $110 level today. Solana’s price is at $116.67, marking a 4.42% increase. Moreover, SOL’s trading volume experienced an 11.44% increase in the last 24 hours, rising to $2.57 billion.
Binance exchange’s native token Binance Coin (BNB) price reached $340.81, a 4.61% increase. Following a 25.30% increase in the 24-hour trading volume, it surpassed the $1 billion mark, reaching $1.06 billion.
The cryptocurrency world’s litigious altcoin XRP left the $0.55 level behind. XRP’s price currently stands at $0.5544, with a 5.63% increase. On the other hand, XRP’s trading volume has seen a 46.09% increase, reaching $1.45 billion.
Lastly, in altcoins, Cardano (ADA) price rose by 6.29% to $0.5817, moving a step closer to the anticipated $1 level. Meanwhile, the 24-hour trading volume saw a 46.98% increase, reaching $626.52 million.
Looking closely at meme coins, Dogecoin found buyers at $0.08667, a 6.88% increase, while its closest competitor Shiba Inu saw a 3.84% value increase, trading at $0.000009827.
Altcoin Peak Performers
According to CMC data, Stacks (STX) is the day’s top-gaining altcoin. STX’s price has risen by 27.40% as of the time of writing, reaching $2.72. Meanwhile, its trading volume saw a massive 111.24% increase, rising to $728.11 million. Furthermore, during its price rally, Stacks reached as high as $2.80.
Second on the list is Sei (SEI). SEI’s price reached $0.88, an increase of over 18%, pleasing its investors. SEI’s 24-hour trading volume increased by 141%, amounting to $847 million. Meanwhile, its market capitalization rose by 24%, reaching $2.2 billion.
