The Solana $220 blockchain network has introduced Play Solana Gen1 (PSG1), the first portable gaming device specifically designed for blockchain-based games on its platform. This innovation marks a significant step in Solana’s efforts to deepen its involvement in the gaming sector, garnering positive reactions from the community. Play Solana proudly stated, “We are thrilled to present the first portable Web3 gaming device built on Solana. Please welcome Play Solana Gen1 – PSG1.”
Solana Steps Into the Gaming World
Details regarding pre-orders for the device will be announced at the Solana Breakpoint Conference held in Singapore on September 20-21. PSG1 is expected to offer instant transactions, low-latency gaming experiences, and easy asset management within the Solana ecosystem.
Priority Access and Discounted Prices
Players who own Player 1 NFTs will receive priority and discounted access for PSG1 pre-orders. These NFT holders also gain early access to updates within the Play Solana ecosystem, further emphasizing Solana’s commitment to community engagement.
Despite low demand for previous smartphone initiatives, Solana remains persistent in producing smartphones with enhanced capabilities for Web3 users. The company announced the Seeker, a second-generation Web3 smartphone, with plans to launch it in 2025, having already received over 140,000 pre-orders from 57 countries.
The Seeker will integrate a specialized crypto wallet and a segmented Seed Vault for secure key storage, making crypto transactions easier and safer compared to the previous model, Saga. Additionally, the more affordable Seeker will be available for early participants at a price of $450 during the pre-sale period, which ends on September 21, 2024.
Solana’s investment in the hardware sector with products like PSG1 and Seeker aims to boost the adoption of blockchain technology. These innovations seek to facilitate easier access to Web3 and blockchain applications, promoting their usage in everyday life.
