Billionaire venture capitalist Tim Draper firmly believes that Bitcoin (BTC) $95,984 will rise to $250,000. In 2018, he first predicted that the leading cryptocurrency would achieve this milestone by the end of 2022.
New Predictions
When this forecast did not materialize, Draper revised his timeline to mid-2023. Now, in a statement to Benzinga, Draper maintains that BTC will still reach a quarter of a million dollars.
“I made my initial prediction when Bitcoin was $180 in 2014. I said it would reach $10,000 within three years, and by the end of 2017, it did. Since then, I haven’t been as prescient. I thought Bitcoin would hit $250,000 by 2022! I might be three years behind.”
The venture capitalist forecasts that BTC will reach $120,000 by the end of this year, with the price more than doubling next year.
“This is a long-term trend. Bitcoin is a better technology compared to relying on banks and governments as third-party trust. It’s transparent, global, open, and maintains perfect records, making the world wealthier. Retailers and governments will realize that Bitcoin saves money in every transaction, creating a strong incentive for universal adoption.”
As of this writing, BTC is trading at approximately $92,100, having fallen over 2% in the last 24 hours. Draper’s optimistic views on Bitcoin have attracted interest among investors, but caution is advised due to market volatility. Future price movements of Bitcoin will be shaped by technological advancements and market conditions.
