HIVE Digital Technologies delivered a record revenue performance for the second consecutive quarter in the third quarter of its 2026 fiscal year, reporting earnings of $93.1 million. This surge reflects substantial growth in both its Bitcoin mining capacity and its high-performance computing (HPC) operations—two pillars driving the company’s recent momentum.
Significant Financial Gains Outpace Previous Year
The company’s announced revenue marks a 219% jump compared to the same period last year, and it also surpassed the previous quarter’s figure of $87.3 million. HIVE’s revenues now tower above last year’s third-quarter total of $29.2 million, signaling rapid expansion across its key business units.
Despite these robust sales figures, HIVE reported a net loss of $91.3 million based on GAAP standards for the quarter. The loss was predominantly influenced by changes in accounting policy and infrastructure investments; notably, $57.4 million of the loss stemmed from accelerated, non-cash depreciation expenses. By reducing the depreciation period for equipment from four years to two, the company aimed to better reflect the rapid technological advancement in mining hardware.
Boost in Bitcoin Mining and Strategic Growth in Paraguay
As of December 31, 2025, HIVE had scaled its installed Bitcoin mining capacity to 25 Exahashes. Much of this expansion is attributed to swift infrastructure investments in Paraguay, where HIVE has rapidly increased its operational footprint. The company’s growing presence in Paraguay has not only driven higher revenues but also contributed to a spike in related depreciation expenses for the quarter.
Bringing these projects online, HIVE has significantly ramped up production in the region. Investments in Bitcoin mining have translated directly to its balance sheet and income statement, underlining the company’s aggressive approach to scaling its mining operations in burgeoning markets.
High-Performance Computing and AI Push Revenues Higher
Beyond mining, HIVE continued to advance its artificial intelligence-focused HPC segment. The gross operating profit from its BUZZ HPC division reached $32.1 million—six times the amount from the same period a year earlier. This arm has been instrumental in the company’s efforts to diversify income beyond cryptocurrency mining.
In February 2026, HIVE signed a two-year, $30 million deal to acquire 504 Nvidia B200 GPUs. The company intends to deploy this new hardware in the first quarter of 2026, anticipating an additional $15 million in recurring annual revenue as a result.
Strategic Objectives and Future Outlook
HIVE’s leadership has set an ambitious target for its GPU-powered AI cloud services, aiming for $140 million in annual recurring revenue by the final quarter of 2026. Achieving this milestone would dramatically elevate the share of artificial intelligence infrastructure in the company’s revenue mix, lessening its reliance on mining alone and broadening operational stability.
Thanks to record sales, rising production capabilities, and rapid growth in its AI operations, HIVE accelerated its operational scaling over the past quarter. Nonetheless, the shift to accelerated depreciation made net losses appear higher on paper, despite ongoing underlying growth in core business areas.
