Ripple’s leadership prioritizes payments infrastructureDebate over XRP’s value accrual and investor expectations

Ripple’s leadership prioritizes payments infrastructure

Arthur emphasized that Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and company president Monica Long remain dedicated to building cross-border financial infrastructure instead of closely monitoring the daily market value of XRP. Ripple, headquartered in San Francisco, is known for its suite of solutions designed to facilitate instant global payments using blockchain technology.

In a widely shared post, Arthur stated that the company’s executives focus on competing with established financial systems and processing high-value settlements, rather than making decisions based on individual holders’ portfolios.

Brad Garlinghouse and Monica Long are building a global payment infrastructure, competing with legacy systems, settling trillions, and moving capital across borders in seconds – they’re not starting each day thinking about the XRP community’s portfolio.

Arthur added that price increases in XRP should be seen as a possible outcome of Ripple’s broader business progress, rather than its core mission. He cautioned that investors may feel let down when key milestones do not immediately affect XRP’s price, particularly if they focus only on short-term performance averages.

He encouraged community members to treat Ripple primarily as a company dedicated to financial infrastructure. According to Arthur, investors should interpret XRP as a long-term infrastructure play, not as a short-term speculative asset.

Debate over XRP’s value accrual and investor expectations

Some community members echoed Arthur’s stance but also highlighted the need for Ripple to further clarify how its corporate growth could translate to value for XRP holders. One user, OptimaPs, agreed with Arthur’s perspective but noted that aligning with Ripple’s vision should not require investors to adopt the same timetable as the company. OptimaPs argued that Ripple’s progress and the interests of XRP holders remain inherently related, as in traditional equity markets.

Another participant, Alew, concurred with Arthur’s assessment “for the most part” but raised concerns regarding Ripple’s transparency. Alew questioned whether Ripple communicates effectively about how its business activities, such as the focus on RLUSD or other new initiatives, would produce value for the XRP token itself.

Alew compared Ripple’s communication practices to other blockchain projects such as Canton Network, led by Yuval Rooz, which provide more frequent updates about token value accrual mechanisms. The commenter suggested that clear tokenomics and direct communication remain essential for XRP investors to understand the pathway from Ripple’s business developments to potential increases in XRP’s market value.

Arthur’s post thus reinforces the distinction between Ripple’s corporate objectives and the expectations of XRP holders. He maintained that investors should evaluate Ripple’s progress based on the expansion of its payment infrastructure, rather than expecting every announcement to influence XRP’s market price dynamics.

Mini dictionary: Canton Network, a blockchain platform led by Yuval Rooz, focuses on secure, interoperable financial solutions for institutional participants, differentiating itself through regular communication about project tokenomics.

Ripple’s infrastructure priorities mean that immediate price movements in XRP should not be the sole yardstick for measuring the company’s progress.
