High-profile speakers confirmed for XRP Seoul 2026

J.A. Akinyele, Senior Director of Engineering at Ripple, has been confirmed as one of the main speakers for the conference. Akinyele will join other notable figures from the Ripple ecosystem, including Monica Long, President of Ripple; Markus Infanger, Senior Vice President of RippleX; and Chandler Fang, Founder of t54ai.

Ripple, founded in 2012, is a San Francisco-based technology company focused on developing payment solutions using blockchain technology. It is known for its contributions to cross-border settlement systems and the development of the XRP Ledger, an open-source decentralized blockchain.

XRP Seoul 2026 is expected to attract significant attention from the regional and global blockchain community as it gathers developers, industry leaders, and innovators to discuss advances around the XRP Ledger and new blockchain applications.

XRP Ledger 3.3.0 brings major technical enhancements

Alongside the event announcement, Ripple revealed that the XRP Ledger has undergone a major upgrade with the release of version 3.3.0. This update introduces six new amendments available for validator voting: Confidential Transfer, Batch, Sponsor, Permission Delegation, Dynamic MPT, and fixCleanup, which bundles a series of fixes together.

Mini dictionary: Confidential Transfer is a protocol feature that allows users to conduct private transactions, concealing transaction amounts from public view while preserving verifiability, often leveraging cryptographic techniques like zero-knowledge proofs.

Software engineer Mayukha Vadari shared that version 3.3.0 delivers a comprehensive set of improvements. Among these are a reduction of more than 15% in memory usage, enhanced online_delete performance, and 60 bug fixes resulting from reviews by an AI red team.

In addition to the visible changes, numerous small fixes, code refactors, and build system improvements have been implemented, making the core xrpld software more reliable and easier to maintain for both operators and developers.

The upgrade also includes the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment, which, among other changes, ensures expired credentials are deleted in Permissioned DEX (decentralized exchange) transactions. Upgraded invariants have been implemented to further secure network operations.

The technical update advances the underlying codebase from C++20 to C++23. Old amendments like Clawback, which have been active for over two years, have been retired to streamline operations and simplify the repository.

Boosted reliability and increased test coverage

Test coverage for the entire XRP Ledger repository has been improved, rising from 82% to 82.9%. This enhancement aims to further reinforce the stability and security of the network as it continues to evolve.

Ripple and its engineering team emphasized that while many of these changes may not be directly noticeable to typical users or node operators, they play an essential role in ensuring the ongoing health and scalability of the broader XRPL ecosystem.

Upgrade AreaMain Improvement
Memory UsageReduced by over 15%
Bug Fixes60 issues fixed
C++ StandardUpgraded from C++20 to C++23
Test CoverageIncreased from 82% to 82.9%
Amendments Added6 new features for voting

Developers and participants in the XRP Ledger community are now evaluating the new amendments, with validator voting set to determine their eventual activation on the mainnet.
