Solana (SOL) is currently trading at $102.78, marking a slight decline of 0.57% over the past 24 hours. Despite this modest drop, the token remains above its key daily exponential moving averages (EMAs), suggesting that market sentiment is still supportive of a broader upward trend.

Technical overview: EMAs and RSI support

SOL maintains its value above the 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day EMAs, which are positioned at $99.21, $90.52, $86.13, and $91.37, respectively. This configuration provides a buffer against potential downward moves and signals continued bullishness, though momentum has moderated.

The relative strength index (RSI) stands at 60.74, reflecting a decrease from its recent average of 67.73. While this suggests that Solana’s rapid August momentum has cooled, the RSI still points to a market environment where buyers retain some control.

SOL sits above all four major daily EMAs, keeping the broader trend positive even as momentum slows. The RSI reading remains in bullish territory, signaling ongoing buying interest.

Open interest, liquidations, and volume trends

Market data from Coinglass shows open interest for Solana derivatives climbed from around $4.4 billion in early August to nearly $7.5 billion before retracing to roughly $6.6 billion. This decline coincided with a shift in leverage and cooling enthusiasm among some traders.

On August 20, short liquidations spiked to approximately $100 million, as prices quickly broke away from the $70s. This forced buying likely added fuel to Solana’s upward surge during that period. Smaller liquidation events occurred after the breakout, impacting both long and short positions.

Trading volumes also swelled during the August rally, with daily figures reaching between $12 billion and $17 billion. Volumes have since moderated again, even as SOL stabilizes in the $100 to $105 area. Traders are monitoring whether renewed buying activity will emerge if the price approaches key levels.

In a market where a single Fed decision or a sudden altcoin listing can spark rapid changes, experienced investors are increasingly opting for integrated, privacy-focused tools like CryptoAppsy. These platforms offer real-time charts, instant price alerts, project-specific news, and crucial macroeconomic indicators—all accessible without account creation—in one interface, allowing for faster market reactions.

Open interest fell from a peak of $7.5 billion to roughly $6.6 billion, indicating a moderation of leverage following recent volatility. Trading volumes and liquidations highlighted periods of rapid market action and subsequent consolidation.

Institutional focus: Solana Foundation’s London event

The Solana Foundation has revealed plans for an exclusive event, “Solana & Suits,” set to take place on October 5 in London. This invite-only forum will convene influential figures from the capital markets to discuss the evolution of global financial systems and onchain infrastructure.

Speakers include representatives from institutions such as Standard Chartered, State Street, Société Générale, Baillie Gifford, and Allfunds. Organizers positioned the event as an exploration of “what the world’s financial system will look like in ten years,” emphasizing progress in building future financial architecture.

While the announcement has not been directly tied to recent SOL price movements, it reflects growing institutional interest in the Solana ecosystem and underlying technology.

Key technical levels for market participants include the 20-day EMA at $99.21 as the main support area. A move below $92.10 could lead to greater downside toward $74.57. On the upside, resistance is seen at $105.20 and then $110. If SOL can break through these resistance levels with increasing volume, the earlier rally may extend further.

At present, Solana’s price hovers near $102.78, consolidating between well-defined support and resistance thresholds.
