Solana, a leading layer-1 blockchain recognized for its high-speed network, reported a substantial surge in transactional activity during the third quarter of 2026, as non-vote transactions more than doubled compared to the end of 2025.
Transaction volume sets new records
The official Solana account announced that the network processed 8.92 billion non-vote transactions in Q3 2026. This figure marked a 104% increase from the 4.38 billion transactions recorded in the final quarter of 2025.
Solana also outperformed its previous quarters in 2026. The blockchain saw 7.54 billion transactions in Q1 and 7.19 billion in Q2, highlighting a steady upward trend in activity. The quarterly growth for Q3 stood at 24%, signaling a reversal from the decline registered in the preceding quarter.
Solana’s non-vote transaction count includes network interactions such as token transfers, decentralized application activity, and trading, excluding the regular validator votes essential for network consensus.
Co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, widely known as Toly, acknowledged the network’s milestone with a concise social media post:
“Put the cryptography into the computer,” he wrote, conveying enthusiasm about the blockchain’s accelerating adoption.
Data compiled by Solana Compass indicated that the blockchain handled about 3.18 billion completed non-vote transactions in September alone, setting its third straight monthly record. This consistent rise underscores the persistent demand on Solana’s infrastructure from developers and users.
| Quarter | Non-Vote Transactions (Billion) | Quarterly Change |
|---|---|---|
| Q4 2025 | 4.38 | — |
| Q1 2026 | 7.54 | +72% |
| Q2 2026 | 7.19 | -5% |
| Q3 2026 | 8.92 | +24% |
Interpreting on-chain activity
Non-vote transactions are central to assessing true user engagement on a blockchain, as they filter out automated validator votes that secure the network’s consensus. Instead, they reflect interactions linked to token transfers, decentralized applications, and trading platforms built on Solana.
Mini dictionary: Non-vote transactions — Blockchain transactions that exclude validator voting, capturing real user activity such as token transfers, smart contract interactions, and decentralized app usage.
Despite the record-breaking totals, analysts caution that these statistics may not directly equate to an increase in individual user activity. Automated trading bots are capable of generating a significant proportion of transaction volume, inflating on-chain metrics without necessarily boosting the actual number of unique users.
SOL token performance
Amid these network milestones, Solana’s native token, SOL, was trading near $104 on October 19, with its market capitalization standing at around $61 billion.
