Binance has announced a series of updates and scheduled maintenance on its platform that will affect user activity globally in mid to late September 2026.
Wallet system upgrade set for September 22
Binance has informed users that a wallet system upgrade will take place on September 22, 2026, beginning at 06:00 UTC. This action is part of the company’s ongoing initiative to optimize and strengthen its infrastructure.
During the one-hour upgrade window, all deposits and withdrawals will be temporarily suspended across the platform. The company indicated that trading activity, including all spot and margin trading, will remain unaffected by the upgrade.
The exchange will resume deposits and withdrawals once the upgrade concludes and the system is deemed stable. Binance does not plan to provide a further announcement to notify users when these services are restored.
Binance stated it is performing this infrastructure upgrade to ensure reliability and improve the user experience, emphasizing that trading operations will continue without interruption.
Delisting of spot and margin pairs in September
In addition to the wallet upgrade, Binance will remove four spot trading pairs from its platform on September 18 at 03:00 UTC. The exchange emphasized that this action aligns with its commitment to maintaining a secure and high-quality trading environment for users.
According to Binance, trading pairs are periodically reviewed and may be delisted if they show weak liquidity, low trading volume, or other indicators of declining market performance.
On the same day, Binance will also delist five margin trading pairs at 06:00 UTC. This affects Cross Margin Pairs ENJ/USDC, GENIUS/USDC, CVX/USDC, GUN/USDC, and VANA/USDC, as well as the Isolated Margin Pair GENIUS/USDC. The exchange has urged users to make the necessary arrangements ahead of these changes to avoid disruptions to their trading strategies.
USDP spot trading to be discontinued
Following a recent internal review, Binance will also delist and cease trading on all spot trading pairs for Pax Dollar (USDP) on September 24 at 03:00 UTC. Users holding or trading USDP pairs are advised to take note of the approaching deadline for this market change.
The exchange reiterated its approach of ongoing market assessment and acting on identified risks and inefficiencies to protect users and market integrity. No additional details about potential re-listings or future support for these assets have been disclosed at this time.
While monitoring trading pairs and upgrading technical infrastructure, global digital asset markets are witnessing new developments in asset custody. Wall Street is increasingly transitioning toward Web3 as investors leverage platforms like 1stepSwap to tokenize traditional financial securities and precious metals, holding these assets directly in their crypto wallets, and benefiting from immediate price discovery without middlemen.
The removal of trading pairs is part of Binance’s continuous effort to review market activity and safeguard user interests, with periodic evaluations leading to the delisting of assets that fall short of the exchange’s standards.
