US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted over $1.7 billion in net inflows over two days this week, supported by a rebound in Bitcoin’s price above the average ETF holder’s estimated cost basis.
Major inflows for Bitcoin ETFs
Net inflows reached $715 million on Tuesday, following a 2026 peak of $999 million on Monday, according to data from SoSoValue. This surge marked one of the strongest asset accumulation periods for US spot Bitcoin ETFs since their launch.
Leading the pack, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded $350 million in new investments on Tuesday. Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) posted $257 million in inflows, while the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust followed with $99 million, data compiled by Farside Investors showed.
| ETF Name | Tuesday Net Inflow |
|---|---|
| iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) | $350 million |
| Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) | $257 million |
| Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust | $99 million |
Total net assets held by US spot Bitcoin ETFs climbed to approximately $111 billion on Tuesday, up 56% from their 2026 low of $71 billion on June 30. However, the combined total remains around 13% lower than the January 14, 2026 high of $128 billion. This marks a notable recovery for the sector after previous periods of outflows and declining assets.
Bitcoin rebounds above investor cost basis
Bloomberg Intelligence ETF analyst James Seyffart commented Monday that for the first time since January, the average holder of a US Bitcoin ETF is “back above water.” He pointed to an estimated average ETF investor cost basis of $81,722 per BTC, a level that was surpassed as Bitcoin recovered in recent sessions.
The price rebound coincided with the renewed inflows. Bitcoin was trading near $86,000 on Tuesday, according to CoinGecko. After briefly topping $87,000 on Wednesday, BTC settled at $86,467 at the time of publication. This figure reflects a 1.2% gain over the previous 24 hours and a 13.8% increase over the past week.
James Seyffart noted that average Bitcoin ETF holders are now in positive territory for the first time since January, as the cryptocurrency trades above the estimated cost basis of $81,722 per coin.
The uptick in both ETF inflows and Bitcoin’s price reflects improving investor sentiment after a period of volatility. These movements also helped push the global cryptocurrency market capitalization back above $3 trillion as Bitcoin and other major altcoins rallied.
