Cardano’s ADA token rose nearly 7% on October 10, trading close to $0.256 as a sharp rebound caught the attention of traders. Despite the move, ADA’s rise came amid weaker overall market activity and in the wake of a challenging start to the month. The recent price action marked an attempt at a recovery for one of the largest proof-of-stake blockchains by market capitalization, though analysts cautioned that confirmation is still needed for a clear trend reversal.

Price surge meets thin volume, support levels in focus

ADA managed to reclaim its 30-day moving average at $0.2353 and surpassed the 50% Fibonacci retracement level at $0.2359. However, trading volumes dropped by 34.86%, suggesting less participation compared to earlier periods. While these technical milestones provide ADA with some near-term stability, analysts noted that insufficient trading activity could challenge the breakout’s sustainability.

The main support area for ADA now sits between $0.2359 and $0.2276. Analysts stated that a fall below this range could invalidate the rebound. If ADA continues to hold above these levels, it could pave the way for another test of weekly resistance around $0.2762. For bulls to retain momentum, ADA would need to achieve a daily close above $0.256, cementing a more resilient recovery. Failing to do so risks the possibility of a false breakout and renewed downward pressure.

Volume trends remain a crucial factor. The steep drop in recent trading volume signaled caution among investors and raised doubts over whether the rally could be sustained. The Altcoin Season Index ticked up 5.17% to 61, indicating a shift in demand toward alternative tokens, but this movement does not assure ongoing capital inflows into ADA.

As Bitcoin held steady near $82,800 and spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded outflows of $729 million over two days, the risk appetite for alternative cryptocurrencies remained fluid. Analysts observed that sustained selling in Bitcoin-related assets could undermine ADA’s newly established support band, further elevating the risk of downward moves.

ADA has reclaimed significant technical levels, but lower trading volume and broad market pressure leave the recent rally vulnerable as further confirmation is needed for a durable turnaround.

Network activity surges after CIP-0113, but price diverges

On-chain data provider Santiment reported that Cardano’s daily active addresses surged to approximately 27,500 on October 7 and 27,200 on October 8. This marked a sharp increase of around 1.7 times the average recorded on weekdays in September. The spike coincided with the mainnet launch of CIP-0113, a technical standard enabling advanced features for token issuers on Cardano’s blockchain.

CIP-0113 allows issuers to create programmable tokens with specific rules, such as implementing know-your-customer checks and transfer restrictions. The Cardano Foundation described these capabilities as a new standard for native tokens, integrated without requiring a protocol hard fork.

Mini dictionary: CIP-0113, or Cardano Improvement Proposal 0113, is a standard that gives token issuers on Cardano the ability to control asset behavior, allowing optional integration of regulatory features like KYC, sanction screening, and selective transfer permissions—all without requiring protocol-level changes or hard forks.

Despite increased network activity, ADA’s price fell roughly 13% from October 6 to October 8, signaling a disconnect between usage levels and price action. Analysts noted that higher active address counts measure blockchain engagement but do not necessarily translate to immediate investment demand or price appreciation. They also reported that Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses did not see comparable increases during the period.

The price bounce observed on October 10 occurred after both the network’s activity jump and the price decline, making it difficult to directly link the rebound to the feature upgrade. Analysts highlighted the importance of sustained activity and evidence tying address growth to actual demand for ADA before attributing price gains to protocol improvements.

Surging active addresses after CIP-0113’s launch failed to spark an immediate ADA rally, underscoring the complex relationship between blockchain upgrades and market sentiment.

Analyst outlines key ADA price targets and conditions

Crypto analyst Giannis Andreou identified initial ADA support between $0.22 and $0.25, with resistance positioned in the $0.30 to $0.35 range. Andreou stated that a move above these thresholds could help strengthen the prospects for a lasting recovery, with higher resistance bands forming at $0.40–$0.45 and $0.55–$0.65. However, he cautioned that reaching the frequently discussed $0.90 target would depend on ADA’s ability to clear each of these resistance zones in succession.

A sustained decline below the $0.22 base would undermine any bullish scenario, leaving $0.90 out of reach in the near term. The analyst’s outlook reflects the need for continued momentum, supported by both technical progress and network fundamentals, to support further upward moves for ADA.
