Affiliate organizations of Fairshake, a US political action committee primarily backed by Cantor Fitzgerald, Coinbase, and Ripple Labs, have reported millions of dollars in ad spending to support candidates in the lead-up to the country’s midterm elections, now less than a month away.
Major PAC contributions across party lines
According to filings submitted to the US Federal Election Commission (FEC) on Saturday, Fairshake affiliates Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress spent a combined $2.7 million on media campaigns supporting both Democratic and Republican candidates for the US House of Representatives in 2026.
Breakdowns of these expenditures revealed targeted support for several lawmakers, including over $76,000 for House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, $73,000 for House Agriculture Committee Chair Glenn Thompson, $512,000 for California Representative Pete Aguilar, and $500,000 for New Jersey Representative Josh Gottheimer.
Fairshake had recently announced its intention to endorse 32 additional House candidates, with plans to allocate $1 million in media support to six of them. While these six were not among the latest reported ad buys, legislators such as Emmer, Aguilar, Gottheimer, and Thompson appear on both lists as current beneficiaries and future endorsers.
A Fairshake spokesperson stated in August that the PAC maintained $122 million in cash reserves to execute its midterm strategy, which centers on electing more members of Congress who support the cryptocurrency industry. Part of this approach involves contesting the reelection of former banking committee chair Sherrod Brown in Ohio’s Senate race, directing at least $30 million to oppose his candidacy. Brown, one of the most influential Democrats on banking policy, has frequently voted against bills seen as favorable to the crypto sector.
Legislative focus and future outlook
All lawmakers highlighted in the latest Fairshake spending supported the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act in 2025, a legislative effort designed to establish clearer market structure rules for digital assets. The bill sought to expand the regulatory authority of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and clarify enforcement within the crypto market. While the House approved the measure with bipartisan backing, it narrowly failed to clear the Senate last September.
Coinbase’s initiative Stand With Crypto has continued to rank legislators by their stances and voting records on crypto policy. After the Senate’s procedural rejection of the CLARITY Act, Stand With Crypto warned that congressional candidates who failed to support digital asset legislation could face consequences in the upcoming midterms. The group is working to mobilize voters focused on crypto-related issues ahead of the elections.
In 2025, all the recipients of Fairshake’s financial backing supported the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, underscoring the growing significance of digital asset policy in US electoral politics.
Meme token markets have recently shown how quickly internet trends can shift investor activity. For example, Fomo App shared data regarding a trade involving “Niu Lai,” in which a $99 investment reportedly turned into approximately $370,000. Such examples highlight the importance of monitoring both price action and the behavior of market participants. Fomo App integrates token discovery, social feeds, investor rankings, and trade notifications in a single platform for users interested in tracking meme tokens and investor movements.
