Ripple has entered into a partnership with Privy, a wallet infrastructure company owned by Stripe, to deliver programmable wallet solutions for applications built on the XRP Ledger. Privy officially announced the agreement on October 13, stating that the collaboration aims to make it easier for developers to integrate both XRP and RLUSD wallets directly within their platforms.
Privy’s wallet tools expand developer capabilities
Under the new partnership, Privy will provide infrastructure that enables XRPL wallet creation, management, and transaction signing through software tools. Developers will gain the ability to programmatically set up and operate wallets, as well as interact seamlessly with XRP, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, and additional digital assets on the XRP Ledger.
With Privy, developers can create and manage XRPL wallets programmatically, sign transactions, and build experiences using XRP, RLUSD, and other digital assets directly on the XRP Ledger.
The integration is expected to streamline the process for consumer financial applications, allowing fintech and other firms to embed crypto wallets for stablecoin payments. This infrastructure removes the need for end users to manage their own cryptographic keys, simplifying onboarding and payment flows.
For enterprise applications, Privy plans to introduce server-side wallets, which will serve businesses that deploy AI agents for automated payments. These wallets support systems such as x402, which Ripple and other major industry players have adopted for agent payments.
According to Markus Infanger, senior vice president of RippleX at Ripple, these capabilities give developers a powerful base to build scalable financial products by leveraging fast settlement, low transaction costs, and the native digital asset support offered by the XRP Ledger.
Ripple highlights rising AI agent activity
Ripple reported that AI agents executed 13 million payments on the XRP Ledger, accounting for approximately 25% of all network activity. These transactions, enabled by the growing support for AI-driven payments, underline the increasing adoption of programmable agents within the ecosystem.
To date, the XRP Ledger has processed 13 million agent-driven payments, now contributing nearly a quarter of total network traffic.
Ripple joined the x402 Foundation as a Premier Member on July 14. The x402 protocol, developed under the Linux Foundation’s open governance model after a contribution from Coinbase, has seen participation from leading companies such as Stripe, Circle, Google, Visa, and Mastercard alongside Ripple and Coinbase. In June, Ripple released the XRPL AI Starter Kit to assist developers in enabling software agents to send and receive payments in both XRP and RLUSD.
Stripe agreed to acquire Privy in June 2025, following its previous $1.1 billion purchase of stablecoin provider Bridge. Though financial terms of the Privy acquisition were not disclosed, Stripe stated that Privy, like Bridge, will continue to operate as an independent entity. Founded in 2021, Privy provides wallet solutions for platforms seeking to integrate crypto payments and management features without friction.
RLUSD stablecoin and institutional adoption
Recent reports estimate the outstanding supply of RLUSD stablecoin at around $2.5 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data. Separate figures from DefiLlama place the total value of stablecoins on the XRP Ledger at approximately $1.19 billion, with RLUSD making up nearly $1.10 billion of that amount.
Standard Custody & Trust Company, operating under the supervision of the New York State Department of Financial Services, issues RLUSD for U.S. customers. Ripple clarified that RLUSD does not carry FDIC or SIPC insurance protections.
Institutional adoption continues to expand, as on October 12, Standard Chartered launched RLUSD custody services for institutional clients through its branch at the Dubai International Financial Centre. The bank is also working with Ripple and LMAX Group on a collateral infrastructure that would enable institutions to use RLUSD for trading purposes while keeping tokens in secure custody, pending further testing and regulatory approval.
In a digital asset landscape marked by volatility and high-speed developments, the ability for traders and investors to consolidate analytics, news, and portfolio management in one place is becoming essential. Industry participants are increasingly turning to privacy-focused tools like CryptoAppsy, which offers instant access to real-time charts, smart price alerts, asset-specific news, and macroeconomic data. These platforms eliminate the need for multiple logins, supporting market participants who want all critical information in one dashboard, without even creating an account.
