U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) extended their streak of positive net inflows to 13 consecutive weeks, collecting approximately $11.3 million between October 5 and October 9. This continued interest came as XRP’s price declined more than 7% over the same period.
ETF inflows outpace XRP price performance
While demand for regulated XRP investment products climbed, the cryptocurrency’s market price experienced notable volatility. XRP fell from around $1.52 to $1.40, with a low point of $1.32 during the week. Meanwhile, cumulative ETF inflows for XRP approached $1.8 billion, underlining a growing divergence between investor flows into regulated vehicles and the cryptocurrency’s immediate price trends.
These fund flows came despite challenging market conditions for XRP, which has measured inconsistent performance in spot trading compared to the appeal of ETF-style exposure.
Bitwise dominates weekly ETF inflows
ETF inflows for the week were heavily concentrated in a few products. Bitwise, an asset management firm specializing in cryptocurrency funds, captured the majority with approximately $10.55 million in new investments. Franklin Templeton, a major global investment manager, reported about $4.1 million in inflows to its XRPZ fund. In contrast, Canary Capital’s XRPC ETF saw around $3.34 million in net outflows, highlighting uneven interest across providers.
| ETF Provider | Weekly Net Inflows |
|---|---|
| Bitwise | $10.55 million |
| Franklin Templeton (XRPZ) | $4.1 million |
| Canary Capital (XRPC) | – $3.34 million |
The aggregate net inflow largely depended on Bitwise’s result. Without Bitwise, the overall net inflows across other ETF products would have been less than $1 million.
XRP ETF holdings on the rise as rivals see outflows
An independent tally, based on issuer-reported changes in holdings, found that about 7.9 million XRP were added to ETF portfolios during the week, equivalent to an estimated $11.1 million using recent prices. The new purchases followed a previous surge, when XRP ETFs took in $110.49 million in the last week of August, despite difficulties for XRP to sustain its price then.
XRP fund inflows continued even as traders witnessed a more than 7% weekly drop in the cryptocurrency’s value and broader volatility.
While XRP funds posted positive inflows, other U.S. cryptocurrency investment products saw large-scale redemptions. Spot Bitcoin ETFs had around $681 million in withdrawals. Ethereum-focused funds lost an estimated $542 million, and Solana investment products recorded approximately $24.8 million in net outflows.
| Cryptocurrency | Net Fund Flows (same period) |
|---|---|
| XRP | + $11.3 million |
| Bitcoin | – $681 million |
| Ethereum | – $542 million |
| Solana | – $24.8 million |
Combined, the three other categories saw roughly $1.25 billion withdrawn, indicating that investor appetite for XRP ETFs has remained strong in contrast to outflows in much of the crypto ETF space. Previous weeks also showed this pattern, with XRP drawing inflows while its rivals experienced consistent fund withdrawals.
